KATHY HO FOX
June 1, 1980 December 7, 2018
Kathy Ho Fox died unexpectedly, December 7, 2018, at the age of 38 in San Diego, California.
Kathy is survived by her parents, Danny Yoon and Hye Sook Ho; her sister, Sandy Ho and brother-in-law, Michael James Ferguson, Jr.; her husband, Brian Joseph Fox; their son, Young Jay Fox; her husband's family, Margaret Nispel, Patricia Farish, Randy Fox, Lisa Fox, Erin Fox, and Amber Marchand; and numerous friends from Colorado Springs, San Francisco, and San Diego.
Kathy was born in Colorado Springs on June 1, 1980 to Danny and Hye Sook. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1999. She attended Pikes Peak Community College and San Francisco City College. Kathy worked a variety of jobs--one of her fondest memories was working at Taco Bell with several high school friends-most notably Sabrina and Tanja Chargualaf. She created an extended family of friends in San Francisco-too many to list but certainly anyone who has tried her famous kimchi fried rice.
On May 1, 2013, she married Brian J. Fox, the unofficial mayor of Haight Street, and love of her life. On December 3, 2014, Kathy and Brian welcomed their beloved son #YoungJayFox, who is the most important part of their shared happiness and life.
Kathy was a devoted daughter and would Face Time her parents multiple times a day. Her world centered on loving and taking care of Brian and Young Jay. She enjoyed her daily park visits with Young Jay, cooking, shopping at Target, shirts with stripes, taking naps, watching reality TV, and doing anything involved with spending time with her friends and family. She was generous, fun, and a true light in the lives of all who loved her. Kathy left this world having fulfilled her dream of being a wife and mother. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Kathy's family will have a private viewing in San Diego on December 11, 2018. Memorial services will be held in Colorado Springs and San Francisco on later dates.

Yesterday would have been Kathy's 40th birthday. Hope everyone who loved Kathy was able to do something that honors herbeing a mommy, staring at your beloved or Brian (just stare at BFox), petting your four-legged baby with your foot, watching bad reality tv, eating something so spicy your ears hurt, wearing something with stripes or shorts that make you look like you have no pants on, calling your mom, using your chopsticks slightly incorrectly, wearing the biggest hoop earrings, wearing a black choker, paying for something with change/coins, cooking something for people you love, or taking a nap... #HappyBirthdayKathyHoFox
Every year she was with Brian, she would tell me how mad she was that he wasnt doing anything for her birthday. Pouting so much! Then, BFox swooped in with the best surprise gathering or gift she wanted and he would gloat so hard! LOL Have a little faith, Kathy!

I grew up with Brian. I was the little sister of Jeremy so I was able to build a bond with a lot of the boys who spent most days at my house skateboarding.
When Brian met Kathy and began to build his family, the thing that HE ALWAYS DREAMED OF HAVING, it made me so happy! I was even more happy when I finally had the chance to meet Kathy and build a bond with her when they moved to San Diego.
Our boys are just a month apart and played a lot together, played soccer together, we had many beach days, dinner nights, sleepovers and had our fun nights out as well.
Its been a year now. As the days crept up to December 7, my heart ached a little more and more because that nightmare and the thought of the day a year ago was approaching. It makes me so mad and so sad that she is no longer with us. It makes me mad and sad that her family, Brian and YJ have to miss her everyday and live without Kathy.
We will still continue our lives of course and those memories will live with us forever. We will make more memories for Young Jay and do our very best to keep Brian and Young Jay happy here in San Diego! We continue the hangouts and always have birthday parties to celebrate and beach days and sleepovers! Ill continue to give them hugs and support forever!
We miss you Kathy Ho Fox ❤

Man I cant believe its already been 1yr Kathy Ho Fox. 1yr without your posts, 1year without you talking about how much you hate driving on the freeways, 1year without your quirky comments, 1yr without seeing you beam ear to ear with pride for your family. My fav song from Rent, sums it up 525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee.

I have known Brian since he moved to SF and Kathy since the early days of their dating. I also lived next to them for a few years. Kathy had a way of welcoming you into her house, to make you feel comfortable and at-home. They had a lot of friends and people were always coming and going but she took care of every one. I'd often ask her if she needed anything and she'd say "No, no I'm fine". She always wanted to make sure everyone else was taken care of. I saw it in the way she raised Young Jay as well. Pure selfless love

This is heartbreaking. I went to Seoul American Elementary School w/ Kathy & it was nice to be able to reconnect w/ her via social media since military families/life took us in different directions. Condolences to her family & may she Rest In Peace. ❤

The weeks have passed, but the shock has not. To keep dear ones alive, we keep the memories alive. Brian and young Jay are here, but whenever I think of you,I just think of the brightest light in the room. I will keep your light with us always. You are a treasure.

I'm shocked beyond words. I'm so sorry to learn that Kathy passed away so suddenly. Although I haven't seen you in how many years, we're bonded by blood as relatives and that means something. I am so sad to hear about this. I'm praying for you and your family. Love you, Kathy.

For me, Kathy will always be one of the most kindest and reliable of friends that I have ever had. She was hilarious and knew how to keep the joke going(which is not an easy task). I love her and will surely miss her presence in my life. I send all my love to family and friends alike as we all are at a loss when it comes to this shining star.

No matter how old Kathy was, she was always the baby of our small Ho family unit. We adore her and treasure how much better she made each of us with her light. In her last five years of life, she was able to reach her dream of being a wife to Brian Fox and a mommy to #YoungJayFox. We will miss you each and every day. #weloveyouKathyHoFox

I am so sad to see that you're gone. You, Brian, and YJ were such a pleasure to have in the 544 household. I will never forget your sweet gesture of having made me a small portion of vegetarian kim chi fried rice in addition to all of the fried rice you made for us as a house. We will miss you dearly.

Kathy, you were a sweet & caring soul. It was so evident how much you loved your parents, your boys and others. I remember telling you that I adored how much you cherished your parents & I could only hope that my kids will feel that way about me. I also told you on many occasions how lucky YJ was to have you make him such fun (and nutritious) meals. Your response was that he didn't always eat it. Fly high, sweet angel. There are so many who will keep your loving memory alive.

I can't believe you are gone! When I heard about your passing, it teared me up. You had such a kind soul, energetic, fun to be around and I knew you loved your family. I'm glad we went to the same high school and I met you and your sister. If you see my sister, tell her I said hi and I love and miss her everyday. You will be truly missed.
