Kathy O'Neal Obituary

Dr. Kathy O'Neal, M.D., 49, of Amarillo died Friday, October 5, 2012. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Amarillo Botanical Gardens Auditorium, 1400 Streit Dr, Amarillo. Private burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Kathy was born on July 21, 1963 to Richard and Claire O'Neal in Amarillo, Tx. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1981. Kathy then attended The University of Texas at Austin, graduating in May 1985. She continued her education at The University of Texas School of Medicine graduating in 1993. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Arizona in 1996. She married Dr. John Marchant, M.D. May 3, 1997 at Tucson, AZ. She began her pediatric practice in Colorado Springs in 1998 until 2005 then moved to Amarillo with her husband and son in 2008. She cherished parenting her son and sharing time with her family and many friends. She was an inspiration to all of us. Survivors include her husband, Dr. John Marchant, son, Jackson Cole Marchant, her parents, Claire and Richard O'Neal of Amarillo, sister, Gail Scott and husband John, of Amarillo, brother, Danny O'Neal and wife Laurie of Amarillo, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
