I worked for Aquila gas for apx. 29 years before having to retire. I got to see Kelly several times each year at training classes etc, and he was always good for a laugh and a hug. I considered him a friend and I'm very sorry for your loss. On a lighter note, the last company xmas party that I was able to attend up in the springs, they had a white elephant gift exchange that night, and this ugly porcelain dog figurine kept getting passed around because nobody liked it. Well, I was about the last to choose something, and whatever it was I was very happy about it. But good old Kelly was stuck with the porcelain mutt, and he kinda looked at me and smiled. Yep I ended up with the mutt, and it sits on my bar downstairs for all to see. It really means a lot to me now and I will cherish the memory of that night for a long time. RIP Kelly. Your friend, Gary Sanburg

I met this big kid in a wheat field in Syracuse Kansas 30 years ago.We were both cutting wheat for Paul Burkhart. He was the kind of guy you liked to be around. Always happy, and always funny. When he and Te Riley moved to the Springs, we had a lot of good times. I was very amused at the country boys first apartment, at Drenan and Academy. But they fit in just fine. But even after 30 years, Kelly still had that country in his mannerisms, and in his voice. It's true what they say: You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy. God bless you Leisha, Dakota, Colton, and all of your family. And God bless you Kelly, You are really, really going to be missed.

Where to begin...with a smile of course, as that is always what Kelly carried with him - never a sad face did we see. His genuine love for his family and friends was always known to all, whether it be a random joke, reminiscing about past times, a simple day to day conversation, or lending a shoulder to anyone who needed it. It was that infectious smile that always made you feel like the sunshine was on you...warm and relaxing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son, friend, and any other role that came into play. It is that love that shines through in everyone he knew. He will be truly missed by all. When we finally meet again, he will not be hard to find...he will be the Angel in heaven with the biggest smile of them all!!

Celebrating a life well lived. Kelly had an inner spark that is well-reflected in his picture. His boys carry the same spark, and he will always be the best goompa ever. Greatest sypmathies for the loss of this light from the world as a husband, dad, goompa and friend.

What I will always remember about Kelly is his smile. You never knew what burden he may have been carrying because he always had such a contagious smile that others around him had to smile as well. He was a great employee and very dedicated to his career. Kelly would do anything for anyone. He always talked proudly about his wonderful wife and children at work so we always felt a part of his life. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time. May you forever hold Kelly close with wonderful memories of life.
