Kelly Thompson Obituary

Kelly Lynn Thompson April 18, 1960 - September 15, 2008 Kelly was a free spirit that took the world by storm. Her eccentric and flamboyant, but caring personality makes her an irreplaceble entity to this world. She was so compassionate about her work, her friends, and her children. She was a nurse of many years whose main concern was the welfare of others. She spent time always trying to further her education, hiking outdoors, playing games, or joking around with family and friends. She left us unexpectedly, but our memories of her will never be forgotten. She is survived by her son Sean Koscielniak, daughter Chelsea Snover, brother KC Thompson, sister Deina Geiger, and her parents Mona and Warren Thompson. Services will be held at Black Forest Lutheran Church on Thursday September 25th @ 11:00am.

Dear Family of Kelly,
The news of Kelly's death was indeed a shock and filled with sadness. Kelly was a student in my classes at Regis. She was so full of life and creativity. She was gifted with humor and passion and lots of love in the midst of all the challenges she faced. My sympathy is with you in this great loss of your mother, sister, daughter.
Sincerely, Kathryn Kuisle

Dear Sean and Chelsea,

Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss. I had been working with Kelly for about the past year as her advisor, mentor and facilitator in the completion of her Masters degree capstone project at Regis University. I was saddened to hear of her passing. It was indeed an honor to have known and worked with such a special person. I will miss her enthusiasm and dedication. If there is anything I can do to assist please let me know.

Dear Sean and My Sweet Chelsea,
Although I haven't been a part of Kelly's life for about three years, the time I spent knowing her and you, Chelsea, was very dear to me. What I loved about your mom was her fearless ability to laugh at herself in her most tender and painful moments. No matter how down she might've felt, she always tried so hard to find the light. I'm a better person for sitting next to her so many days and nights. I know where to find the light because of her shining example. I loved her.

Chelsea, you are such a beautiful, precious spirit. One of the most powerful young women I've ever known. Your mother loved you both fiercely, and with every pore of her being. She's never gone from you - she's right next to you.

If there's anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to contact me. I pray that you both have comfort and peace. Much Love, Kristi

I have to say that it was an honor to know Kelly. She always had a way with words that could turn a bad situation into something comical and light hearted. She possessed an undying empathy and care for those around her. She also possessed about 500 pairs of shoes! (I know that is laughing right now.) I dated Kelly for a few months and during that time I learned more about relationships than I had before. She was put in my life for a reason and stayed there even though we went our separate ways, we stayed friends. I honor her memory by remembering what it is that she taught me about myself and about life and the impact she had on my life. I feel a sense of loss with out her here and yet I know that she is with her Creator, a child of God returning home.

Hey Chelsea and Sean,

Your mom was a great big personality, full of love and light and fun and passion. Her ability to love and accept and grow and challenge herself was an inspiration to me and to all who knew her. It's just a damned shame that she was taken from us so quickly. I'm so glad she had you two, she loved you so much, and I'm so glad I knew her.

xoxo ellen
