Kelsey Mason, aged 90, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on January 8, 2026. Born on August 17, 1935, in Hillsboro, Kansas, she lived a life of dedication, patience, and resilience.
She spent her years devoted to her husband and creating art. She found joy in artistic endeavors in various applications and forms and was an avid reader.
Kelsey Mason will be remembered for an incredible resilience that carried her through life's challenges with quiet strength and unwavering grace. A gifted artist, she saw beauty where others might not, and her creativity touched everyone fortunate enough to experience it. Her excellent organizational skills brought order, calm, and a sense of reliability to every space she entered.
She is survived by a son, Kelly Hart, of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Karen Hart DeKruger, of LaSal, Utah; a brother, Jim Swafford, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a stepdaughter, Jessica Mason Rice, of Grand Junction, Colorado; stepsons Christopher Mason, of Daytona Beach, Florida; Scott Mason, of Sandpoint, Idaho; as well as grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Richard Lott Mason.
A service to honor her life will be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs.
