Ken Carrick Obituary

Ken Carrick
COL (R) Ken Carrick, age 49, of Abingdon, MD unexpectedly passed away on August 3, 2013. He was a 1986 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He earned a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from the Naval Post Graduate School as well as a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service, and served as V.P. of Tactical Intel Systems in the Engineering Division of Man Tech International Corp. His greatest joys in life were his children and his wife. He loved to travel with his family, cook, and golf with his sons. He was excited to walk his daughter down the aisle for her wedding this November to Hal Bowlin, US Army MEDIVAC Pilot. Ken enjoyed living on the water where he played on his jet skis and boat, AT EASE with family and friends. He is remembered for living a life full of character and happiness. Survivors: COL Carrick is survived by his wife and best friend of 26 years, Teresa (Terie) Stewart Carrick, formerly of Allentown. They have three beautiful children, who were his pride and joy. Son, Chance is currently a Cadet at West Point and will be graduating in May. Son, Corey will also be graduating in May from Monmouth University. Daughter, Samantha is a graduate of College of NJ, and is teaching in Nashville, TN. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Michael and Barry Stewart; parents-in-law, Harley and Santa Stewart; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and many cherished friends. Services: Services were held in the Cadet Chapel at West Point with burial in the West Point Cemetery.
