Well, nine years ago my only sibling, my big brother Ken, left this world. Six months later our only son and first-born left too. A lot to take in in a short time. Ken, say hi to everyone for us.

Well, it has been six years since my big brother left this Earth to be with Jesus, and his ancestors and wife.
I remember his teaching me to set skunk traps in the fields near our home in rural Pennsylvania when I was about five years old. I also recall his letting me sit on his lap and steer Dad's Ford Model A...that is, until I was distracted by some kids playing in the yard of a farm we passed, and almost ran us off the road into a creek. Lots of good memories about Ken. I miss you, Brother.

Dad always had such a dry wit, he reminded me of Woody Allen sometimes, and would leave me rolling with laughter while he looked at me with a serious look, like he didn't get his own joke. He told me about a time when he and his younger brother Terry were hunting over near Rifle CO, and Terry fixed scrambled eggs with anchovies for breakfast. The meal smelled pretty bad over the open campfire, and as Dad sat and stared into the fire, he quietly told Terry, "Let me borrow your pistol for a few minutes". When Terry asked why, he said, "Cause I'll hold it on you while you eat your eggs, the we can switch around and you hold it on me while I eat mine". He never batted an eye while Terry just howled with laughter.

My dad took me hunting and fishing. He also taught me to love camping and climbing in the mountains. there's nothing better than being out in God's world and just experiencing it the way God gave it to us and not the world we've created to box ourselves in. Dad was never happier than playing the mandolin or walking in the woods. I know it won't seem like a long time to you, Dad but it seems like a long time to me til I get to see you again. Later, Dad. Soon the silver veil will part and We shall See Jesus, face to face and then I'll look for you and Mom.

Dear friend, we have walked many a mile together, you have crossed this river before me. I will surely catch up and we will walk together once more. To the Basye clan, my deepest sympathy. Don Q

Many fond memories, we were always so excited to make our bi yearly trip to Colorado to visit with grandma and grandpa as children. Anytime I see a tumbled rock or a homemade piece of quality jewelry my grandfather comes to mind.
I will always appreciate the time we had.

As a child there were good times shared at Grandma & Grandpap Avery's home. Too bad that time separates us. But I remember a particular good time at Uncle Floran's and Aunt Nellie's home at Sipesville PA when they and Kenny all 3 played musical instrument while we sat tapping our feet and enjoying the best music! Time separates families but memory brings us together again.

My sincere condolences to Ken's family. I hope the family can focus on the peace that Ken must have found in being relieved of the burden of continuing to occupy a failing physical body. He has indeed slipped the surly bonds of Earth...

I worked with Ken for several years at Ampex. He was a pleasant man with a great sense of humor. Condolences to the family.

I'm so sorry for your loss; I know you'll miss him, Terry. He is finally at peace, and prayers for the family, for God to give strength, hope and peace at this sad time...

Teasing him and telling him jokes. That is what I will miss most. He was my big brother. His coming home on leave from the navy when I was a boy was better than Christmas for me.
