Colonel Kenneth G. Chaulk

Kenneth Chaulk Obituary

In a small switch, I would like to write a part of my obituary. (Before hand, of course). I was born in Botwood, New Foundland on September 25, 1926 and came to this country when I was three. My family lived in East Hampton, L.I. New York, a truly wonderful home town. During my youth, I was lucky to be part of Boy Scout Troop 27 and gained the rank of Eagle Scout. With WWII raging, I entered the army in 1944 and spent two years in the infantry. after commissioning in 1949, I transferred to the Army Air Defense and spent my entire career in that branch. In August 1950, I married the love of my life, Miss Elizabeth Green. We had 58 great years together and raised five wonderful children. In Air Defense, I started with guns and later served in guided missiles. Early on, I commanded a Nike Missile Battery in the New York Defense and later served in the Pentagon. I also had my share of isolated tours in Korea and Vietnam and served with many fine organizations. I was preceded in death by my parents, Benjamin and Annie Chaulk and a daughter, Susan Chaulk Griffin. I am survived by my wife, Elizabeth and four children: Kenneth, Jr. and Terry of Denver; Christine of Greeley and Timothy of Yuma, Arizona; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also, a brother, Douglas and two sisters, Florence and Grace. It was truly an honor to have served this great country and to have spent my life with my wife Elizabeth and my children. Services pending.
