Kenneth Collins Obituary

On November 28, 1964, Kenneth Jerome Collins was born to James L. White and Eura (Collins) Carter Emery in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was his mother's first born, and was nicknamed Sweetie Pie. To all of his friend and loved ones, Kenneth was known simply as Pie. Pie attended Harrison High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During his high school years, and after serving three years in the United States Army, he worked for his father's auto detailing company where he remained a loyal employee until he was unable to continue work because of illness. Pie struggled for many years with several health issues, the most debilitating one being severe kidney disease. At the time of his death he had been on dialysis for 13 years. Although he was ill and could not work, he was the main provider and support for his two children, who were the center of his universe. He was a faithful son, brother, companion and friend, but his greatest and proudest accomplishment was that he was an endearing and loving father. Celebrating Pie's life are his children, Kenisha Latrice Collins (9) and Areial Krystal Collins (6); girlfriend, Kimberly Jackson; mother, Eura Emery; father, Exie Emery; all of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Terrell Collins Sr., of Corona, California; sister, Elexia Simpson (Kevin) of Stafford, Virginia; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pie is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Reather Collins; beloved grandmother, Katie Clark; sister, Elexia Emery; and brother, Gregory Carter. The viewing will be held at Angelus Chapel on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 24, at 10:00a.m., at Angelus Chapel, 1104 S. Circle Drive. Interment Evergreen Cemetery with full military honors.
