Kenneth Raymond Mayo, 80, passed away due to illness December 23, 2023, in Farmington, New Mexico.

Ken was born in Yuma, Colorado, to Doris and James F. Mayo. He was known for his athleticism in a variety of sports while attending Harrison High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After graduating in 1961, Ken worked largely in the construction industry. He owned his own drywall company before ultimately joining the Maintenance Department at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. He retired from the Broadmoor after 25+ years as a proud member of their Pioneer Club.

Ken had a broad range of interests, including square dancing, watching sports (especially women's basketball), and bowling. He served on the board of directors and was president of the Colorado Springs Pikes Peak USBC Bowling Association and the Colorado State USBC Bowling Association.

Ken was married to Sally D. Mayo (Burnett) for 38 years until her death in 2019. In 2020, he moved to Farmington, New Mexico to be closer to family. There, he continued bowling and met and married Becky Russell.

Ken is survived by his spouse Becky Mayo (son Scott Beckstead) of New Mexico, son McCabe J. Mayo (JoJo) of New Mexico, daughter Ann M. Buttermore (Scott) of Colorado, son Greg A. Burnett MD (Teresa) of Wisconsin, brother James F. Mayo (Rose) of Colorado, brother David L. Mayo (Talitha) of California, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lonnie L. Mayo, and spouse Sally D. Mayo.

Ken's friends and family will greatly miss his generosity and larger-than-life personality.

All are invited to attend his interment at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, Colorado on April 6, 2024 at 10AM and a celebration of Ken's life to follow at 12631 Goodson Rd, Colorado Springs, Colorado, at noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pikes Peak USBC Youth Program, PO Box 76226, Colorado Springs, CO 90970-6226.
