Kenneth Reid Obituary

Reid
KENNETH E. REID
March 19, 2023
Kenneth E. Reid (72) of Woodland Park, Colorado passed away March 19th, 2023 with his Wife and Daughter by his side. He was drafted into the US Army in 1968. He served in Vietnam 1969-1970 where he was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal (2d award), Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and 2 overseas bars. After his tour in Vietnam he reenlisted and was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in A Battery, 2D Battalion, 1st Field Artillery. While enlisted, Kenneth spent a tour in Germany, received a Diploma from Wayne School in Basic Diesel Mechanics, as well as other certificates of achievement and awards including the Sharpshooter M-16 Rifle Badge. He was Honorably Discharged in 1976 from Fort Carson, Colorado in the 6th Battalion, 32nd Armor, 4th Infantry Division as a Wheel Mechanic.
Ken was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Papa. He made friends everywhere he went and loved sharing his bottomless knowledge and wisdom with others. Ken will always be remembered for his kindness, facetiousness, and his willingness to help others. He was steadfast in his beliefs, so much so you could call him stubborn. He loved almost all music from Brittney to Disturbed. ACDC and Billy Idol were always on repeat, but his favorite was Pink Floyd. We will miss his unwavering patriotism and quick wit.
Ken was laid to rest March 29th, 2023 with his Military Brothers. There will be a Celebration of Life June 4th, 2023 starting at 10am at Memorial Park, 200 North Park Street in Woodland Park, CO 80863. Come join his friends and family to remember and share stories about Kenneth. This will be a casual event as he did not wish to have a traditional funeral.
