Kenneth Sasaoka Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Kanji Sasaoka, Master Sergeant United States Army, Retired. Born June 14th, 1927 in Kona, Hawaii. He passed away April 6th, 2005 in Colorado Springs, CO surrounded by his Family and Friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenjiro and Ishino Sasaoka; his siblings Mitsuji Sasaoka, Takeko Sasaoka, Ethel Shiosaki and Hatsuko Shigeishi. Surviving are Frieda his loving wife of 50 years; sister Shirley Morimoto, Brothers Dan, Robert and Seiji Sasaoka; Son Stephen (Suzette); Grandchildren Conner, Chelsea and Chandler and many friends and neighbors children who grew up knowing him as "grandpa". He is fondly remembered by many close friends who he considered family. Ken joined the United States Army in 1944 and retired 27 years later. After retiring from the service he worked for ITT for 15 years. Memorial services with military honors will be held Tuesday April 12, 2005 10:00 a.m., at the Shrine of Remembrance "America The Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Interment to follow in the Shrine of Remembrance Rose Gardens. We will miss you "Grandpa"! Our lives will never be the same!!!
