Kenneth Thomulka Obituary

Kenneth Wm. Thomulka
Kenneth Wm. Thomulka, Ph.D, 71, of Allentown, died September 28, 2013 in his residence. Born in Mt. Holly, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Betty (Woods) Thomulka. Ken received his BS in Bacteriology from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He attained his MS and Ph.D. in Microbiology, Microbial Physiology and Microbial Genetics from Hahnemann Medical College. He was a professor at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, Camden County College, Gloucester County College, and most recently at Gwynedd Mercy College. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed bowling, camping, and stamp collecting. He was an assistant Scout Master for Troop 71 in Macungie, past treasurer for the Upper Milford Field and Stream Assoc., and served as an assistant coach for several soccer and baseball teams for the Upper Milford Youth Association. Survivors: Cade Upanavage and their sons, Alex and Daniel Thomulka, of Emmaus; sons, Thomas K. Thomulka and wife, Denise, of Collingswood, NJ, Richard K. Thomulka of Collingswood, NJ, Andrew K. Thomulka of Cherry Hill, NJ; daughter, Jenny Lynn, wife of Terry Sullivan, of Perkasie; grandchildren, Steven, Gregory, Michael, Cory, Callista, Cassiddy, Katelyn, and Brooke. He was predeceased by a sister, Susan Kissner. Services: Memorial services Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 3 p.m. in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Friends may call 1 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private in Calvary Cemetery, Emmaus. Online condolences may be made to www.schantzfh.com. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ann School, 435 S. 6th St., Emmaus, PA 18049, or to Boy Scouts of America, Troop 71, c/o Rob Smigielski, 6632 Arbordeaux Lane, Macungie, PA 18062.
