As we approach the anniversary of Kent's passing, my thoughts have turned more toward his life. I have been digging deeper into Kent's book, which causes me to more keenly miss his wisdom and expertise. I marked "student" because "mentee" was not a choice. From around 2006 until around 2016, I met with Kent once or more a year for individual coaching around nonprofit leadership, discipleship and publishing. It was a high honor to me that in 2007 and 2008, he was a proponent for the curriculum I wrote to be a successor to the waning 2:7 series. Unfortunately his voice did not triumph on that one. Kent helped The organization I founded, on three occasions between 2008 and 2012 secured Kent to consult with our board. On one of those occasions he voiced an observation that is still helpful for us today. His consultation in 2012 led to a massive search for a parent organization, for which he served as our "head-hunter." I miss Kent professionally and personally, but not near as much as his family, I am sure. I hope this short recollection is some comfort to them--knowing the high esteem I held for Kent and the role he played in this steward leader's life. Though, that pales in comparison to the comfort of knowing that Kent has enjoyed for the last year--which may be like just a moment for him now-- unhindered access to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Debbie, Abby and Albert, I was so sad to hear about Kent's passing! It has been such a privilege to have known and worked beside you both (Debbie) at Camp Elim and later at NavPress. Holding you all in prayer and love. ~ Lindy (Koch) Wiseman

Debbie, Abby and Albert,
My deepest sympathies for your loss. I am also a Vistage Chair, and we need more like Kent. The frustration at times like this is the inability to say enough to give comfort. Just know we care and Kent will be missed.

Kent had such a unique way about him that you could tell he was genuine to the core. How could you not like him? His caring way was reflected so after you spoke to him, you really felt better about yourself.
I like so many others will remember him in a special way. I was so lucky to know to him for a short period of time.

Dear Debbie, Abby and Albert: Terry and I were so saddened by the news of Kent's passing. We have such fond memories of Northeast Bible Chapel and the many wonderful people we knew there. We know with absolute certainty that Kent rests with Him and that we will all be reunited one day. We travel the same road to the same awesome destination! May you draw strength and hope from those God sends to you during this time.

Weeping with your family. Kent's legacy as the patriarch of the family has left an incredible imprint. I hope and pray that Kent's model of faithfulness to Christ spurs you on to love God and people all the more. He is with Christ and that is gain! Even though it is painful for him to be away from us.
