Kevin McDonald Obituary

Kevin McDonald, 15, passed away February 1, 2013 while on his way to Woodland Park High School. Kevin was born June 4, 1997 in Colorado Springs and was the fifth of six children. Kevin was a sophomore at Woodland Park High School where he excelled at math and science and was an honor roll student. Kevin planned on being an NFL referee or becoming the owner of the Denver Broncos. In the unlikely event that Kevin's NFL career didn't pan out, his backup plan was to be an accountant. Kevin was a gentle, kind, and very smart kid that loved the Denver Broncos, playing soccer on the Woodland Park and Rec. league, and hanging out with his family and friends. Kevin, his sister and brothers, always had many friends at the house, sleeping over, playing games, and generally being silly. Kevin is survived by his parents, Dave and Sue, and his four brothers Bill, Andy, Kurtis, Jimmy and his sister Heather. He is further survived by his grandparents James McDonald and David Bruce, his niece Kaia and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kevin's funeral service will be held at Woodland Park Community Church at 11:00 AM Thursday February 7th. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mountain Memorial Funeral Home in Divide. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Kevin loved the zoo; his favorite animal was the hippo.

Today in 1977 we lost our son Chis. He was only 18 months old. He would have been 387 years old this June 5th. It is something that NO parent should have to go through and live with the rest of their lives. Each milestone that the child should have had in their lives is only a reminder of your loss. My Mom and daughter are your mail carrier and I know this has effected them in a big way. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!!!! People will tell you that it will get better but it doesn't. You just learn to live with it and and go on and celebrate life for the loved one lost!!! Connie Broady and family
