Douglas Wayne "Big Wayne" Taylor Sr., 75, of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, formerly of Rockingham, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
He was born May 26, 1939 in Richmond County, son of Jessie Taylor and Nettie Clara Sheppard.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Taylor.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Nanet McDonald Taylor of the home; children, Annette Morrison of Rockingham, Douglas Wayne Taylor II and Amanda of Ocean Isle, Kristina Taylor-Clemmons and Jesse of Ocean Isle and Edward Conner of Ocean Isle; grandchildren, Christopher Taylor of Ocean Isle, Trenton Morrison of Rockingham, Heather McNeill and Jamey of Denver, Colorado, Dakota Morrison of Rockingham, Kayla Taylor and Kody of Ocean Isle, Zackary Taylor of Ocean Isle, Isaac Taylor of Ocean Isle, Bentley Clemmons of Ocean Isle and Kinsley Clemmons of Ocean Isle; great-grandchild, Ryker Morrison of Rockingham; brother and sister, William Taylor Sr. of Ocean Isle and Martha Lovette of Hamlet; and a host of special friends and family, to him, at Minute Man, Seaside, North Carolina.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallote, NC 28470.
A second visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church in Rockingham.
The funeral will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Frank McQuage and the Rev. Mike Childers officiating. Burial will be private.
Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Taylor family.

Mister Wayne was the sweetest man. My daughter loved him so much and was always so tickled to see him, he'd always give her five dollars and tell her to feed her piggy bank. I seen him the Monday before and I just can't beleive he is gone. He will be missed so much.

Wayne will truly be missed by the many people lives that he had touched. I will miss his smile and hugs at the Minute Man whenever I saw him. My sons, Kenny and Mikey were saddened to hear of his passing and send their prayers to "Miss Nanette" and all the family.
