Lacy Thompson Obituary
PHILO: Lacy Thompson Jr., 78, of Philo, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House.
He was born November 17, 1934, in Pemberton, WV, a son of the late Lacy Sr. and Burnise Meadows Thompson. He had worked at David Davies for 12 years and worked at Shelly & Sands for 32 years. Lacy was an avid deer hunter, and liked the outdoors, riding his 4-wheeler and getting on his tractor. He raised quarter horses for 40 years.
Surviving are his soul mate for 52 years, Loraine Thompson of the home; three sons, Lacy Thompson (Jewel) Covert of South Carolina, Rex Thompson of the home and Eddie (Teresa) Thompson of Roseville; three daughters, Lisa Thompson Swauger of Philo, Dana (Kelly) Wayne of Rose Farm and Stacy Thompson (Will) Tupuola of Zanesville; 11 grandchildren, Clint Covert, R.J. Thompson, Lakin Patterson, Lacy (Mandy) Thompson, Christina Thompson, Aleesha Swauger, Cassandra Swauger, Austin Wayne, Ryan Wayne, Darian Tupuola and Zackery Tupuola; a great grandchild, Maxx Thompson; special nephews, Jim Milian and Buck Lester; and other numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chelsey Danial Thompson; a brother, Bobby Jean Thompson; and two sisters, Lena Maelester and Betty Jo Lilly.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 33 N MAIN ST., ROSEVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 at the funeral home with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Lacy will be laid to rest at Stovertown Cemetery.

To the family of Lacy Thompson JR. You can always tell a lot about a man by the way his Kids speak of him. And when any of Lacy's Kids spoke about him (or their Mom) you could see the pride, love and respect for their Parents in their faces and hear it in their voices. He was a good man. And I know there is a big empty space in all of your hearts right now. I pray that God will Bless and comfort each of you now in your time of loss. We are sorry for you all.
