Lailaa Mujahideen Obituary

Mujahideen
Lailaa Yaasmeen
Mujahideen
October 7, 1953
February 9, 2024

Lailaa was reunited with her Lord on the evening of Feb 9th, 2024 in her home in the comforting presence of her two loving and devoted sons Tariq and Faraz Saleem in Colorado Springs. As well as her long time friend Fatimah at the tender age of 70. Lailaa was born (Wanda Iris McGhee) in Parks Air Force Base, California to Charles Walter McGhee Jr. and Maggie McGhee on October 7th,1953. She was raised in Akron Ohio alongside her two brothers and later married and moved to the Colorado Springs area where she raised her four children.
Lailaa was a kind and caring soul with a strength of spirit and character that only her Lord could have blessed her with. She was a devout Muslim and a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was extraordinarily creative and talented. She loved arts and crafts and developed a love for painting in her later years.
Lailaa is survived by her two sons; (Tariq and Faraz Saleem), one Grandson (D'Eric Mujahideen Akili), one brother, Salahudeen Mujahideen (AKA Edward Ivan McGhee), and a multitude of nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Walter McGhee Jr. and Maggie McGhee, her two children Thema Yejide Mujahideen and Rasheed Zakki Mujahideen Traylor, her eldest brother Muhammad Mujahideen (AKA Charles Walter McGhee III) as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles and other family members.
Though she will be missed deeply by all who love her, this separation is temporary for the believers. We pray for Allah's (God's) grace and mercy upon her soul and pray that she be granted the best placement in paradise. We Love You Always and Forever.

Tariq and Faraz, my heart hurts finding out today that your Mom has gone. She was a wonderful person with an amazing smile, and she loved you two more than life itself. When I spoke to her in December she was proud of the men you two have become. I pray that you have friends and family who are helping to comfort you as you get used to life without her in it. I will never forget the time I took your Mom to a networking meeting for the first time. She was so meek and her voice could barely be heard by the other members as she was trying to sell Herbal Life. After a few months, she blossomed into quite the networker, and her voice reached all the way across the room. She never thought it would happen. I was so proud of her. She was a strong woman and never hesitated to do what was needed for her family. Although we didn't see each other often, I will always be grateful for the time we spent together and getting to know her.
