Larry passed peacefully on July 22 at his home in Winslow Court Colorado Springs. He was not suffering. We all will miss him and his wonderful personality and sense of humor. He loved the outdoors and all God's creatures but his favorites were dogs and horses. He was well known by a number of people who had the pleasure of working with him a number of years ago on Lockheed Martin's National Test Bed. Many found him with his best friend Nole Walker who passed years ago. It was always "there's Nole and Larry" to the point that some weren't sure which was Nole and or Larry. He served the country in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam War and was honorably discharged after spending his time maintaining highly classified large antennas around the world.. His engineering skills and work ethic made him a very desirable candidate for Lockheed Martin's engineering teams. In his personal life he was the first to offer the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a skilled craftsman in electronics, painting, and just about any skill need to repair houses, cars and electronics. He loved to fish and spent quality time with his buddies at Blue Mesa Lake and the area surrounding Gunnison, Colorado. In his later years he fell victim to dementia which increased as the years went by. A final wish was to be buried with military honors in a military cemetery. His wish is coming true. He will find his final resting place in a military cemetery in his home town of Tyler, Texas. A man of peace, love, and gratitude to his lord, Jesus Christ. We who knew him will miss Larry Rex Chapman.
