Larry Cook Obituary

Larry went to see our Lord after a long illness, surrounded by his family at his home in Fountain, Colorado.

He was born in Hyannis, Nebraska in Grant County on March 16, 1937 to Fredrick and Sara Cook. He had two siblings, Lenore and Phillip. At age 5, the family moved to Seattle, Washington where his father worked on bombers during WWII. After the war ended, his family moved a final time to Sweet Home, Oregon.

Larry graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1955. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force. He was honorably discharged after an injury and married his high school sweetheart, Eleanor Bennett in 1957.

They moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon where Larry worked at Kimball Glass Company. Over the next five years they had three children: Diana, Lee, and Stephen. Larry worked his way up to District Manager of Kimball Glass and in May 1993 he and his son Stephen opened Cooks Glass. They ran a successful business and Larry retired in 2000.

In December 2006, Larry and Eleanor moved to Fountain, Colorado to be close to their oldest son, Lee and their twin grandchildren, Courtney and Chance.

Larry loved Colorado and the mountains. He was a golfer, loved to hunt, and spend time with his family.

He leaves behind ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service, 7:00PM, Friday, April 1, 2016, at United Methodist Church of Fountain, 1003 N. Santa Fe Avenue, Fountain, Colorado, 80817.
