I never had the chance to meet this wonderful actor, but he made me fall in love with Cloud Dancing. The more I read about the real man behind that character, the sadder I am that I never had the honor of meeting him and telling him how much respect I have for him. I read that he taught the Osage language to the children, and that he was beloved by many. I am late in learning of his passing. I will make a donation to the Osage Nation in his honor. Rest peacefully, beautiful man. And yes, I am still very much in love with Cloud Dancing as I watch again. I bought the dvd set so I can always enjoy that sweet, handsome, noble man. We never met, and yet you remain in my heart always ❤

I grieve to have lost such a great actor and such a good representative of his heritage. I know it's a little late but I just found this. Didn't know he had passed away. I had just escaped death 5 months before he passed with covid pneumonia. I was 2 years older than him. Too Young To Die

I never missed an episode of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman when it originally aired and loved Cloud Dancing, my favorite character on the show. My husband and I just watched the entire series again, with both of us loving Cloud Dancing. I googled him and was stunned to find he had passed, and was also stunned to find that he was from Pawhuska, OK, where my husband is from. My husband, it turns out, went to school and into the National Guard with his brother Robert and knew Larry casually. I will always love Cloud Dancing, and send condolences to all his family and friend who were blessed enough to know him and love him

The world has lost a great am ambassador to humanity. My mother enjoyed Dr. Quinn program, as do I, but it reminds me of all the things wrong with our world, and how we should try to correct what we know is wrong.

Hard to believe it’s been a year since this great man and role model for all Native Americans has passed over to the next world. I feel truly blessed to have been lucky enough to get to know Larry through his brother Chico. Larry lived the life he portrayed on the tv show Dr. Quinn, it wasn’t just a role to him, it was his life style. I was lucky enough to learn more about my Lakota heritage through Larry, he taught me a lot through Sweat lodge and other ceremonies. Unfortunately the last time I saw Larry was the ceremony for Chico’s year of passing and we held a pipe ceremony a couple of days before that. Though I only knew Larry for just a few short years I can truthfully say my life is better for knowing him. Im sure if not already held his year of passing ceremony will be a very special ceremony for sure.

Larry Sellers has been of great influence to me. Because of Mr. Sellers, my thirst for knowledge about all Native Americans, can be described as voracious. I read all I can get my hands on and I wish to visit a reservation if it is even possible. He had a dignity and grace, honor and understanding which, I believe, would be wonderful, if only most people would search themselves and find it. Thank you, Mr. Sellers. I know you soar high with the eagles

Larry Sellers has always had a place in my heart. From watching Dr. Quinn in my early years in Australia 1993, he was my idol, but a soul connection I could never really understand, nor explain to myself or to others. Being a blonde-blue eyed Aussie girl, I've always had an affinity/passion for the Cherokee people, not ever really knowing why. Now that I'm 67, so many things have unfolded in my life's journey, that make me feel even more connected. Mysteries are unfolding for me to answer many illogical questions. There is a connection indeed. To see Larry on Dr. Quinn as Cloud Dancing gave me a sense of peace. His part as Cloud Dancing, was also part of him. It showed. He radiated peace, honesty, a warmth and wisdom that was like a magnet to me. I can't believe it was thirty years ago - and still today I watch Dr. Quinn every day. I feel so detached from this digital world we all 'live' in, that watching Cloud Dancing, with long hair, feathers & Sully, his long hair and buckskin gave me comfort - still. I somehow think that God made a mistake the day he delivered me into this world - wrong time, wrong place perhaps. I've always had a longing to find home, losing my mother at 5 months old, I've forever been searching for home. I may be an Aussie, but my soul has always been connected to Larry's culture. However bizarre that may sound. He was a wonderful human being, a wonderful actor. A human being who cared. After watching his recent YouTube talks around America, it only confirms to me what I always believed to be true of Larry Sellers. A special human being. I was so upset to learn of his passing. Even though it has been 2 years already since he left this planet, his soul and heart is forever strong, forever present in our lives. Still and forever. I am sorry our life paths never had the opportunity to meet. I send my heart to his family who will forever feel his love nearby. I hold you all in my arms, as part of my family. I will continue to watch Dr. Quinn and feel comfort and a sense of belonging, if only for an hour a day. It makes my day worthwhile, to still have Larry, Cloud Dancing spreading his special magic across the universe. Thank you Larry for being just who you are, were - still. With appreciation and love, Danielle. Sydney Australia.

I believed Larry Sellers to be an honest man and true to his people. He was one of the first Indigenous Peoples represented fairly and honestly on television. I enjoyed the way he stuck to his principles and he didn't care about the cost. He , as "Cloud Dancing " would put himself in jeopardy for the peace and safety of the entire reservation of mixed 'tribes., He was the best at representing the very highest traits of the Indigenous Peoples of this land and by extension, Canada as well. He showed us all how poorly his people had been shown in media for a century.

He was a good man who tried to see the best in others regardless of skin tone and background. I'm a very tall and skinny white lady and I know that Larry Sellers would have called me a friend, once meeting me and knowing that I felt his people had been cheated out of land, freedom and even life. I think he put something of that in every portrayal of every episode he was in. I shall miss him greatly, knowing he will no longer be appearing in any more works. He passed away exactly a year before my mom, who also loved him, his character and also thought he was very handsome. She passed away on December 9th, 2022. Farewell Larry Sellers and rest easy with what ever spirits you believe in. I said many prayers for you.....even though your 'church ' is quite different. Thank you for entertaining us all!!❤❤❤

Larry and I work together at Alhambra High School in the Phoenix Union High School District in Phoenix, Arizona in the mid to late 1970s. Larry was a counselor genuinely dedicated to the success of his students and I was a school psychologist. He was successful with his student interactions because his level of sincere caring concern was readily and consistently apparent. His loss is significant and I am saddened to hear of his passing. He had great gifts in many areas and shared them to bless others. It was a blessing to know and work with Larry.

I was so shocked to see this wonderful man on Legacy. I just kept saying No, not him. I was always a fan of his. He was a wonderful man and a great actor because he didn´t seem like he was portraying someone else. Never seemed like a part in a tv show. I´m always very glad he never forgot his heritage or the fact he was from Oklahoma. We were always proud to have him here.
God be with his family at this sad time. His memory will always prevail. He will watch over his loved ones.

I first met Larry through his brother Chico, I was very impressed by the fact that Larry didn’t just play the role of Cloud Dancing on the Dr. Quinn series, but actually lived the traditional way as much as possible in these modern times. I was fortunate over the few years I knew him to get to participate in several sweat lodge ceremonies and other ceremonies such as the pipe ceremony and through him I was able to learn more about my Lakota heritage too. Unfortunately the last time I saw Larry was the ceremony of the year of Chico’s passing a few years ago. I can truthfully say I am a better man for having been able to have known this great spiritual leader and role model for all Native American youth everywhere and some of us adults too. Larry can now be on that spiritual journey that he has so richly earned the right to be on. Rest In Peace Brother the spirit world has indeed inherited a great man. Rest well brother for you have earned it.
