Dear Marie, Mary, Tina & Diane, I don't know where to begin. Larry was a very special guy. I lost track of him over the years, and reconnected briefly when I moved to FL and learned that he was down here. He let me crash at his place March 2012 while I attended a conference in Tampa. It was great remembering the old HS days with him. He was a very good cook! He will be missed and will always hold a place in my heart. You all had a big part in my kids early child care years and I considered you extended family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

So Sorry for Your Loss, Prayers to The Family !

October 1, 2014

Larry was my first true love, who I had the pleasure of attending two proms with in Northampton high school. He was a wonderful, kind, compassionate and happy-go-lucky man who will always remain dear to my heart.
My deepest sympathy to the family. My heart aches for you because family was very important to Larry. Mary was just a baby at that time and he loved her and worried about all his Sister's and his Mom.
We have lost a true gem. May you somehow find comfort amidst all the sorrow.
Sincerely, Carol Grabarits Thomason

To the Werkheiser family,

When God made Larry he threw the mold away! Never in my life have I met anyone who had the "gift of gab" ,and the ability to make you feel better about life in general simply by conversing with him than Larry.

When I visited with him about a month ago while he was still at home I could see just how much the illness had taken its toll.

Larry did his best to convince me that all was well , and he was now on the road to recovery. "I just have to put some weight back on" he said. You know the son of a gun had me convinced he was.

I am to say the least in shock at the much too soon loss of my friend .I know that someday I will see him again, but much like many others am at a loss for now.

So where do we go from here now that Larry is in heaven, and doing his best to keep everyone smiling? I suppose we all have to take over for him down here ,and try to do the same.

To the family may God keep ,and comfort you in your time of loss ,and sorrow.

To Larry Godspeed on your journey. Hammer Down! I'll buy the pie and coffee when I get there !

A quote comes to mind when I think of Larry, it goes something like this..People will forget what you do, they'll forget what you say..But they will never forget how you made then feel..Larry always had a way of making you feel so comfortable, so warm..even when I ran into him at Chemo, we hadn't seen each other in years and it was like we picked up where left off, even more warm and comfortable. I wish Larry's family and extended family my deepest sympathy..

My condolences and heartfelt sympathy for the Werkheiser family. Saddened to learn of Larry's passing. He was a friend and classmate from NHS. He was a kind and gentle soul. He would help anyone in need. Was in touch off & on through social media & another friend. He was taken from us far too early. God must have big plans in heaven because he only uses the best. It was nice having his path cross mine.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. -----  Author Unknown

Aunt Marie, Tina, Diane and Mary,

You all are in my thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in knowing that Larry is in peace now and no longer suffering. It does not seem that long ago that he was taking me for a ride in his Mercury Capri down Jacksonville Rd if memory serves me right. He always seemed to be smiling and happy. He will be missed.

Dear Werkheiser family, I am very sorry for your loss. Larry & I spoke when he was in FL, but I was not in contact with him for a while. We were very close in the early 1990s. Where did time go? I just lost my brother after losing both of my parents, so I feel your pain. Will someone please email me and let me know what took Larry from this world? I always enjoyed being with him when we were together. God Bless!
