Laura Cochran Obituary

Laura, I was shocked and profoundly saddened to read of your passing. You were always--bar none--a dedicated and shining star at CSPD. It was a great pleasure working with you all those years. Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord. And may perpetual light shine upon her. Rest in Peace.

Thanks for all you did on the job, you were an inspiration for officers everywhere.

I want to thank her father and brother for bringing her and her memorial here to Colorado Springs so we could celebrate her life with them.

When she left it was a loss to all of us who knew her and to the citizen's of Colorado Springs who didn't.

Laurie, we lost touch after High School, but I want to thank you for being a true friend and to say that I am proud of everything you achieved during your all too brief time among us.

What an accomplished, talented, and educated woman she was. She gave inspiration to anyone she met. She was amazing to watch when she sparred with others. She will be missed.

Lori, you were an inspiration and mentor to my youngest son Jeremy for many years. You made a lasting impact in the world with the passions and activities you pursued. You will live on through us. Thanks for what you did in life, it mattered.

Laurie brought a sense of realism to class when she taught...brought rubber guns, knives etc that helped me understand more about what she may have had to face in her job on the police force.

She was not only one of my instructors but a personal friend as well....we had lots of fun the many times we sparred together without hurting each other...I miss her already - Bill Ternosky

Great wry sense of humor (oh, the PUNS!), Star Trek, holidays shared for about forever. A person of imagination, kindness, loyalty, and intensity. Farewell.

The world was a better place for having you in it! Laurie was one the nicest, most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. You will always be remembered!

I didn't know Laurie that well, but in reading her obituary, I'm amazed at how accomplished, well respected, and talented Laurie was. It fits with what I remember about her. She was a very kind and thoughtful person. Rest in peace.

Laurie was a bright light in this sometimes darkened world. She was a wonderful friend and mentor. She always was willing to help anybody out without wondering what she would get in return. I am so blessed that Laurie was a part of my life. "Laurie, I hope that you find your Nexus and have No Worries". May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Laurie was one of the most amazing people I ever met. She made every life she touched better, including mine. She will be missed everyday. I have been truly blessed to call her my friend.

I remember Laurie as a delightful child with her family on N.Chelton. And being reintroduced to her by her proud mother when she first became a police officer.
I send you both, Tom and Dave, my deep condolences for your loss and to tell you I will esp. remember her and celebrate her life on her 49th day of transition.

So many wonderful memories of Laura. Her constant smile and willingness to teach at every opportunity. My son Luke was blessed by her teaching abilities as she worked with him running a chain saw this past summer as she courageously fought cancer. We were all so fortunate to get time with her.
