Laurene Anders, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with our Lord in the early morning hours of September 20, 2025. Laurene was born in Otis, Colorado on May 18, 1935, to Cecil A. Brown and Augusta E. Herzberg Brown. She graduated from Washington County High School in 1953. Laurene met her soulmate and love of her life, Oscar (Junior) at the skating rink and they were married in 1954 in Akron, Colorado. She taught first grade at Lorraine Elementary in Fountain for 23 years. She was a homemaker, educator, Sunday School teacher, crafter, and baker with a deep love of the Lord.
Her love for children extended to teaching Sunday School and working with youth in Caraway Street, as well as Vacation Bible School.
Laurene and Oscar loved to be in the mountains with their family while they fished, camped, and roasted marshmallows.
She is survived by her three children: Michael (Barbara) Anders, Linda (Bryan) Penfold, and Carolyn Anders; grandchildren: Molly (Brian) Uffelman, Benjamin King Anders, William (Mallory) Penfold, and Emily Penfold. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Cameron, Madelynne, Logan, and Maya.
Laurene was preceded in death by her parents Cecil A. Brown and Augusta E. Herzberg Brown, her husband Oscar (Junior) L. Anders Jr., and her two brothers Donald and Monte Brown.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00am at Dove Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. US Hwy 85/87, Fountain, Colorado, www.dove-witt.com.
