LAWRENCE EDWARD BROWNING
May 30, 1940 - January 11, 2021
Larry Browning, age 80, passed away January 11, 2021. He was born on May 30, 1940 in Atchison, Kansas to Edward Vernon and Evelyn Clara (Weishaar) Browning.
When Larry was 14, he and his family moved to Colorado Springs where he graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1958. Larry served in the Marines from 1961-1965 and met his wife, Delsie (Padgett) while stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Larry and Delsie married on May 8, 1964, started a family, and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1966. He retired from Colorado Springs Utilities in 1995.
Larry had a huge heart for his family and the people around him. He will be remembered for his gentle, loving nature and his happy outlook on life. Larry was generous, hardworking, compassionate, and loved helping others. He loved camping, gardening, yardwork, woodworking, missions work, cruising and spending time with his family and friends.
He and Delsie were active members of Missionaries of Mercy, a Catholic Missionary. They were also active members of the Mercy Center Community and Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Colorado Springs.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Delsie Mae (Padgett) Browning; and five children, Tami (Todd) Harding, Teresa Burden, Janet McNulty, Mary (James) Chisman, and Mike (Laura) Browning. He had seven grandchildren, Brandon Harding, Korey Daniels, Sarah (McNulty) Daniels, Sam Burden, Ben Burden, Lacie Chisman, and Mason Walker; and also two great-grandchildren, Eve Daniels and Sadie Daniels. He is also survived by brothers, Ken (Emma Lou) Browning, and Jim (Diane) Browning.
He was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Evelyn Browning; brother, Bob (Mary Alice) Browning; and sister Sue (Jim) Leach.
Memorial Mass, 12:00PM, Friday, January 22, 2021, Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 North Logan Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
Private Graveside Service immediately following, 2:00PM, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
Attendees for the Graveside Service will be capped at 25 people. Masks/facial coverings are required.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lawrence Edward Browning's memory to the Mercy Center or Divine Redeemer Catholic Church.

Larry was always smiling and a real go getter. I didn't work with him on a daily basis; but when I did safety was always his priority. He was a good man. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
