Lawrence Lucero Obituary

Lawrence David Lucero-Loving husband, father,brother, uncle, friend and teacher lost his battle with cancer October 31st at 9:00 am. He fought bravely and with great dignity to the end. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 39 years, Fern Lucero, daughter Laurie Lucero-Ogg, son John David Lucero, daughter Ann Marie Lucero, brothers Aniceto from Antonito, Carlos from Denver,and Melvin from Colorado Springs, sisters Flora Lucero and Carmen Bruno from Colorado Springs, and many nieces and nephews. Lawrence graduated from Antonito High School and Adams State College in Alamosa. He served in the US Navy and taught in Antonito School System before leaving for California in 1965. He then taught in San Bruno Park School District for 36 years, most of those at Parkside Junior high where he was a respected teacher and a much loved part of the faculty. Lawrence has traveled the world extensively with family and friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness, love of family and infinite generosity of the heart. A memorial service will be held on November 15, 2007 at Benet Hill Monastery Chapel at 5PM. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in his name to: Benet Hill Monastery, 2555 Chelton Road, Colorado Springs 80907.

I remember Mr. Lucero fro Parkside as a 7th Grade Science teacher and a basketball coach and other things as well. It is true that he was well liked and a good guy. I am sorry for the loss to his family and friends and associates at one time or another.
