Lawrence Rankin Obituary

Lawrence A. Rankin, 77, died April 10, 2014. "Larry" was born March 17, 1937, the son of the late Quintin A. Rankin and Helen (Altman) Rankin. Larry died unexpectedly from a short illness.

Larry is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peggy); brother, Donald Rankin and family, of Cortez, Colorado; daughter, Sandy Teasdale (Mark), of Colorado Springs; son, Kenny Rankin, of Florissant, CO; and daughter, Debbie Neilson (Sam), of Flippin, Arkansas. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Kyle (Jennifer); Misty (Jared) ; Levi, and Tristan; and 3 great-grandchildren, Lance, Jasmine, and Presley.

Larry was a heavy-equipment mechanic for most of his career. Larry volunteered many hours plowing snow for local churches and rebuilding the 4-Mile church after its fire. He had a passion for restoring old vehicles and restored his father's 1938 Chevy. He loved spending time with his family, attending local sporting events, fishing and hunting. He was a genuine good man.

Larry's memorial service will be at the Masonic Lodge in Divide, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Mount Pisgah Cemetery, in Cripple Creek. Arrangements by Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, Divide, Colorado.
