Leila Hudgins Obituary

The lovely Leila Cathy Hudgins of Fountain passed away on July 6, 2008 in Colorado Springs. Leila was born on July 29, 1959 in Rosemare, QC, Canada as the first of seven children to Stuart and Eeva Wilson. The family later moved to Salt Lake City, UT where Leila attended public schools. On December 19, 1988, Leila married Michael Hudgins. In 1998, Leila opened Gold Tooth Annie's Restaurant. This gave the Hudgins a good retail outlet for their tomatoes and allowed Leila to "Wow" customers with her homemade goodies. Leila loved that restaurant. It not only gave her an outlet to do her wonders in the kitchen, but it also allowed her to be around so many wonderful people every day. Nothing came before her customers. The Hudgins sold the restaurant in 2001 and Leila focused much of her time volunteering around the community and working with Michael in their corporate dining business. To meet and visit only one time with Leila was enough to truly know her. All she wanted was to be your friend and make you happy. She was a person who had a genuine interest in everyone's well being and loved hugs! She is preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband, Michael; mother; brothers, Jay (Tracy), Scott (Marsha) and Jedd (Stella); sisters, Sharon (David), Tiina (Brent) and Laura (Joe) and many nieces and nephews who were very precious to her. Amazingly, each one knew that they were her favorite! A viewing will be held at 9:00am with services to follow at 10:30am on Saturday, July 12th at Putnam Chapel, 325 Putnam Street, Security, CO. Donations may be made in her name to the Fountain Valley Senior Center.

Bro. Hudgins, I was blessed to know your wife from church. She was such a ray of light when she would walk in the room. My husband Dwain and I were sorry to hear of her passing. Whenever I think of her she brings a smile to my heart and to my face. May God bless you and comfort you. With love, Dwain and Brandy Harris

I remember when we went and got my first pedicure and I was so short my feet couldn't meet the water in the basin. Thanks for letting Jazz be my horse, we have the same color of hair. I remember when you gave me a treasure map and I found a treasure in your yard, it was a blue box filled with a elephant tusk bracelet, trinkets and coins. I love you. I will miss you. Love, Gabi
