Leila Warner Obituary
Visitation will be between 4-7 pm, Thursday 9 February at Angelus Chapel, 1104 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday 10 February 2017 at Angelus Chapel.
Leila was born Winter Haven, Florida to James Bradley Mitchell and Edna Juanita Allen Mitchell on 15 August, 1937. She attended Dunbar High School and Minor Teachers College in Washington D.C. She married Thomas Warner on 28 June 1958 in Washington, DC. She worked as a Civil Service Supervisor for the U.S. Army at Fort Carson. She was involved in Pikes Peak Elks Lodge No. 473, Daughter of Elks IBPOE of W and many bowling leagues.
She is survived by her children; Toran K. Warner of Colorado Springs, CO, Thomas D. Warner of Houston, TX, Anthony B. Warner of Dallas, TX, David W. Warner of Washington, DC, Rodney Warner of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kamilah R. Nye of Toano, VA; 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three sisters, Jean Bethea of Washington D.C., Constance Ford of New York, NY and Kim Prince of Alpharetta, Ga.
The family of Leila Warner wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the friends that assisted during her later years. Special thanks to Vero Hickson, Debbie Torgerson and Kindred Hospice for their support.
