Lela Howard Obituary

I am still missing Lela. She was a huge presence in my life. Thank You for the snow shovel. I used it for the first time a couple weeks ago. That shovel was a blessing as I was stuck trying to get my car into my garage. I will always Love You!!!

The Flournoy Family prayers are with the Howard Family. I knew Sister Howard from Schriever AFB, CO before I became the Pastor of True Spirit BC. She was known as a person that always, always wanted to improve circumstances and situations at Schriever, the community, and the church. She advocated for veterans in general and especially for homeless veterans, connecting the church with the `Homeless Veterans Day Off.´ She was responsible for the prayer box that was in foyer during my time as pastor. When the membership decided to build, she was assigned the task of defining the needs: number of classrooms, kitchen, sanctuary, i.e. She assembled a committee and with input from the membership her report was accepted and used to outline the requirements to the builder. She was unique and knew how to use it for the glory of God and the advancement of all those she encountered.

Lela was a good friend to me throughout my time at Peterson AFB where we met and beyond. We had so many great memories. RIP my friend you will never be forgotten
