LEON KOYLE HOUTCHENS
July 18, 1922 - June 15, 2018
Leon Koyle Houtchens went to be with the Lord June 15, 2018, at the age of 95. Leon was born on July 18, 1922 in Bugscuffle, TX to Eric Leon Houtchens and Nettie Pearl Houtchens. He was the second of the three children born to Eric and Nettie.
In his youth, Leon followed his entrepreneurial spirit from Texas to Colorado Springs, CO. After moving to Colorado Springs, Leon married Susan Sportsman in 1943. Together they founded local business H&H Tire, which they operated for over 37 years.
Leon is survived by his wife Susan Houtchens, four children Lonnie Houtchens, Debra Marchman, Anita Hood and Quentyn Houtchens, sister Ninetta Vette, brother Vernie Houtchens, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Leon was preceded in passing by his parents.
Memorial services will be held for Leon on Sunday June 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
