Leonardo Barinque Obituary
Leonardo served 26 years in the United States Army, including service in Korea and Vietnam. He retired in 1980 in Colorado Springs where he resided for 29 years before relocating to San Antonio. His no nonsense candor and deadpan humor will be greatly missed.
Leonardo is preceded in death by his parents, Catalino Barinque and Marcela Perlas. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sally Delumpa Barinque; six children, Steven, Edward, Lori, Mark, Christopher, and Christina, and 17 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM, at the Schertz Funeral Home located at 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, Texas, 78154.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015, at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Loretto (Chapel One), on Randolph AFB. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit, located at 8109 Fredericksburg Rd., San Antonio, Texas, 78229.
