Lettie Ellington was the 9th child born to the late Samuel and Mary (Pigford) Nathaniel on September 9, 1939, in Elkhart Texas. She passed away peacefully in her home on December 6, 2022, surrounded by family and friends.
She worked retail at Lerner Shops and many years at Current Inc, but for the majority of her life she was a dedicated homemaker. She volunteered many hours at her children's school, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts Troops.
Lettie was a ray of hope, always staying positive and looking at the good in everything – she will be sorely missed. Lettie never met a stranger and welcomed everyone to her home with a simple phrase "come see me".
Lettie was proceeded in death by her husband Curtis Ellington, her parents Samuel and Mary (Pigford) Nathaniel; 3 brothers Ross, Calvin, and Martin (Bill) Nathaniel; 4 sisters, Sammie Walker, Johnny Moore, Pearl Hughes and Wille Rodgers and a great granddaughter Azalia Ellington Knott.
She leaves to cherish in her memory her children Clayton Ellington, Venessa (Bryant) Ellington Alston of Colorado, Leticia Kelley of Stone Mountain, GA. Three brothers, Joe (Zelma) Nathaniel of Colorado Springs, Howard (Sadie) of Houston Texas, Jessie (Sharon) of Dallas Texas, and one sister Joyce Dawson of Dallas Texas. Nine grandchildren Deonte, Deion and Dmitri Kelley of Stone Mountain, GA; Daquane (Deamber) Ellington, of Baltimore, MD; Dashon Alston of Colorado Springs, CO; Breanna, Jasmine, and Victoria (Kadisha) Ellington of Colorado Springs, CO; and Chanelle Doer of Denver, CO. Six great grandchildren and a host of cousins, in-law's, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 4-7pm at Angelus Chapel 1104 S. Circle Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, at 11 am at Lakeside Church of Christ, 603 S. Hancock Ave, 80903. She will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, Colorado Springs, CO.

My condolences to the family. Lettie was a wonderful person, always had a smile on her face. I knew her through Dr. Joshi's office. She will be missed. Rest in heaven my friend.
