I lived across the alley from Lilly and Syrah. Syrah used to come play with my dog Matilda and watch my Koi fish. I just want to let Dryrah know that we're thinking of Lilly and how beautiful she will always be. Hope you're doing well Dryrah.. sending hugs Anne and John Paetz

Today while I was at work laying 350 degree oil smelling asphalt and tack not to mention it was raining , anywho point is all I could smell was Lilly's , like it was crazy it made me super sad and miss u even more . It's been a long time since I've written here but I was able to see your beautiful daughter a couple weeks ago. I got to spend a few days with my niece and I can't believe how beautiul she is ubside and out. We all love and miss you and I'm so happy I was able to see mom. Thank you for always surrounding us and supporting us with your own beautiful spirit. I love you and know that Dyrah is the best part of you and a gift to all of us. Thank you for that.

So I graduated today. My second degree, this one in AET (Avionics). You'd be proud. I could see you there, standing next to Mom and Dyrah, cheering me on. I miss you so very much. Last week was a very trying week for me without you here. It's just not the same without you Bratface.

3 years already, Lilly, I pray life upstairs is wonderful for you! I talk to your daughter and mom often, and they are amazing women, they keep my spirits up as well...You are still a beautiful soul and woman, we all miss you tremendously here..but, we will meet again someday, until then, my friend, take care of yourself up there, and know your daughter looks just like you, she thinks of you all the time....so does your mom and family....many hugs Lilly!! <3

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just found out about this. Lily and I worked together during high school at Windslow Court. She was always so sweet and beautiful. I went through some hard times while working there. She always went out of her way to be nice and encouraging to me. This is such a tragic loss. She is missed.

I know that your sweet spirit looks down upon us all. My heart weeps most for your mom, sister Ara and little Dyrah. Your mom and I were good friends in school. She was always a very good mom and I know that Dyrah is in good hands. I know that this has to be the most difficult time for her but so thankful that she will have Dyrah by her side. Lilly Duncan may not be with us anymore, but in her wonderful daughter Dyrah she truly left a legacy. Our deepeswt sympathy go to the family of Lilly Duncan. We only saw a small news clip about this tragic story but were overwhelmed by the words of this 12 year old child filled with so much empathy for the driver who took her mom's life.
We will include you in our prayers.

It was an incredibly hard and emotional day, but a beautiful celebration of life! You will be missed by many Lilly, but in the hearts and thoughts of so many more! I may not have known you in life but I do know your mother and in knowing her and reading the statements left by others about you I believe the world has lost not a flower as your name implies but a priceless gem never to be replaced. You came into my life when I needed someone to have faith in me and give me a little shove. I came into your life when you needed a little normalcy and some help on your homework. ;) I am always amazed how God brings people into each other’s lives at just the right moment – this was no exception. When I first met you, you had Dyrah in tow and I remember you saying “If you don’t like my kid, we can’t be friends.” You were always to the point and protective of the fact that you were a mom first and proud to be who you were. You honored me by meeting your friends and family and I was amazed by the love you had in your life. You are an amazing person and a unique spirit and anyone who knew you was lucky to have met you. I will always cherish your friendship. Your legacy will be one of tenacity, loyalty and love. You will be greatly missed.

Sweet Beautiful Lilly, The world and our whole community dropped to the floor last Saturday when you had to go and is still laying in pieces and will be for a long time..Our first and only conversation you and I ever had was standing in line waiting to use the restroom and we spoke of your baby foot prints and hand prints near your heart.. I told you, you were marked by sweet baby angels and the most precious i ever seen..We laughed then but now my heart is crying, as you are now called to be an Angel and only now I know your name.. You left me standing there a little speechless with wonder, As I could see through your Beautiful Blue eyes the most incredible heart and an amazing soul.. Only now I understand the importance of our brief encounter and how human souls speak sometimes without even saying a word.. You taught me the importance of time, of a single minute or second spent feeling love in my soul even with a stranger and to never take one second of the air I breath for granted without telling someone how they made me feel.. I watched your heart shine among those surrounding you, your smile light up the room and your soul giving the most beautiful unconditional love.. I'm sorry for my loss, that I took for granted the importance of "Time" and assumed I would have another day "Later" to get to know you.. I was privileged to know so many sides of Lilly, a incredible mother and nurturer, confidant and my dearest friend. Dyrah your mom was the one person that never gave up on me. She believed in me and without her I could not have achieved a quarter of what I have, not only in terms of success and career, but in terms of personal happiness and realizing the self-saboteur that had lived deep inside my own heart. She showed me that mother can take the place of all others and provide trust and stability but whose place no one else can take.

Dyrah, your mom always wanted you to have choices and to be able to be yourself in this world without dumbing down, settling for less or being afraid speak your mind. She never would limit your dreams, she tried not to hold too tightly, always encouraging you to spread your wings and soar. If by chance you would fall, your mother was there to wipe away your first tear before it had a chance to hit the ground. She would say at least my daughter falls with style and would be there to protect you from pain before you even realize it would hurt. Your mom always took the time out to care for the most precious thing in her life- you.

She was one of those people who lived life to the fullest. Your mom was never scared of hard work, she believed there is value in every life, regardless of past choices or hardships. What I admired the most was her genuineness and her style. She took risks, stepped out of her comfort zone, offering her knowledge to total strangers in an effort to empower their hearts and lift their spirits.

Your mother has been an extraordinary influence so many different lives and challenged everyone to always love, care, and give back to the people we are grateful for. I want you to know that I am here for you in any way you need. And finally, simply, no matter what, no one will ever, ever, ever replace your Mom. No one.

Lilly, we did not get a chance to say goodbye before you left Virginia. I have often wondered how you and Dyrah were. I am truly stunned by this tragedy, my deepest sympathy for your family. I am glad to have known you, and the time we spent together. I hope you are at peace and know that you will be remembered for your sense of humor, compassion, and loving spirit.
