So I met someone, he makes me happy and I was thinking about how much I want you too meet him. I want you to take our pictures but will have to settle on someone not nearly as talented. I will be home in less than a month big sister and will be seeing the family for the first time since everything happened. How has the time even gone by? I feel like you're still here, still giving me your sassy advice and your mental "DUH's." I miss you so much. I love you

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just found out about this. Lily and I worked together during high school at Windslow Court. She was always so sweet and beautiful. I went through some hard times while working there. She always went out of her way to be nice and encouraging to me. This is such a tragic loss. She is missed.

Lilly,

I know that your sweet spirit looks down upon us all. My heart weeps most for your mom, sister Ara and little Dyrah. Your mom and I were good friends in school. She was always a very good mom and I know that Dyrah is in good hands. I know that this has to be the most difficult time for her but so thankful that she will have Dyrah by her side. I know that you will always be a part of their hearts and your guiding spirit will remain close to them. I only got to see you a few times while you were here on earth but I always remembered you as a loving, kind, sweet girl with a carefree spirit. May you always smile with the angels up in Heaven. ?

Lilly Duncan may not be with us anymore, but in her wonderful daughter Dyrah she truly left a legacy. Our deepeswt sympathy go to the family of Lilly Duncan. We only saw a small news clip about this tragic story but were overwhelmed by the words of this 12 year old child filled with so much empathy for the driver who took her mom's life.
We will include you in our prayers.

Lilly,
I may not have known you in life but I do know your mother and in knowing her and reading the statements left by others about you I believe the world has lost not a flower as your name implies but a priceless gem never to be replaced. However you did leave the world a bright gem of your own in your daughter in whom I know will keep a bright spot lit in this dark world of ours.

You came into my life when I needed someone to have faith in me and give me a little shove. I came into your life when you needed a little normalcy and some help on your homework. ;) I am always amazed how God brings people into each other’s lives at just the right moment – this was no exception. When I first met you, you had Dyrah in tow and I remember you saying “If you don’t like my kid, we can’t be friends.” You were always to the point and protective of the fact that you were a mom first and proud to be who you were. You honored me by meeting your friends and family and I was amazed by the love you had in your life. You are an amazing person and a unique spirit and anyone who knew you was lucky to have met you. I will always cherish your friendship. Your legacy will be one of tenacity, loyalty and love. You will be greatly missed.

If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand.” You made each and everyone of us smile. You are smiling down on all of us now, and we will always smile back. I will forever cherish the Ceramic Lilly that you gave me as a gift many years ago. Everytime I walk past it, I smile and think of you. Dyrah, you were the flower girl in our wedding almost 9 years ago. You were and still are one of the most beautiful, sweet and loving girls I have ever met. I have no doubt that you are going to grow up to be an amazingly strong woman who will always make your mom proud. Lisa and I are here for you, for whatever you need. We love you Lilly, you are so greatly missed, but again, we will be smiling back at you always.

Lilly, I was introduced to you and Dyrah through one of your best friends of ten years, my fiancée, Erin. You two had a relationship like nothing I'd ever seen. You were an amazing person. You could make anyone laugh in seconds. I will never forget the time we got to spend together. I know that we will continue to stay in Dyrah's life, as I know you would want.

Today I sit here and stare at this little girl who says "Auntie Lilly is in heaven now" and she says it with no fear. She says it like everything is okay and we shouldn't cry anymore, but it just makes the tears flow again. How can this tiny six year old little girl be so confident that Auntie Lilly is watching over her and all I can think is how sad I am that I won't get to hear your voice again? I miss you so much, you were taken from us too soon. Presley will always remember her Auntie Lilly and will make sure of that. The other day Dyrah told Erin you were the most beautiful Angel. She is so strong. You will live on through your beautiful daughter and we will never forget you. I love you Lilly, Rest In Peace.

I can only imagine the young lady that you were here on earth. From your pictures, I can see that you were a beautiful person. And knowing your mother, your beauty went way beyond your appearance. Your mother tells us that you were also a mother. I have NO doubt that you were a wonderful mother . . . because, you had a wonderful role model. Thank you gracing this world with your presence and leaving such a Bright and Shining Light for all of us!! Please know that your daughter, your family, and all who have been touched by you, are so Blessed for having known and loved you!! May God Keep Forever in His Loving Arms!! We will always love you, Lily, as the memories we all have are of a lovely, caring woman. You will always be alive in my memories, and I will cherish them more than ever. Lilly.... See the love you gave and the hearts you touched...... That was all you my baby! You are a gift to us all! You are amazing!

Dyrah will be loved and cared for with all that I am! She is strong and good because of you. She will remain so.

Your spirit will live on in her because she has you. I will male sure of that.

She will still have to do homework, dishes, pick up poop and make her bed. She will never be spoiled. I will have to fight Papa on some of that but she will grow to be a wonderful woman. You will see it all from the heavens.

I miss you. You will always be my best girlfriend in the world. Now I talk to you without you lopping back to me! Ain't that just funny, funny, funny! Lol

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine. Sweet Beautiful Lilly, The world and our whole community dropped to the floor last Saturday when you had to go and is still laying in pieces and will be for a long time..Our first and only conversation you and I ever had was standing in line waiting to use the restroom and we spoke of your baby foot prints and hand prints near your heart.. I told you, you were marked by sweet baby angels and the most precious i ever seen..We laughed then but now my heart is crying, as you are now called to be an Angel and only now I know your name.. You left me standing there a little speechless with wonder, As I could see through your Beautiful Blue eyes the most incredible heart and an amazing soul.. Only now I understand the importance of our brief encounter and how human souls speak sometimes without even saying a word.. You taught me the importance of time, of a single minute or second spent feeling love in my soul even with a stranger and to never take one second of the air I breath for granted without telling someone how they made me feel.. I watched your heart shine among those surrounding you, your smile light up the room and your soul giving the most beautiful unconditional love.. I'm sorry for my loss, that I took for granted the importance of "Time" and assumed I would have another day "Later" to get to know you.. Until someday I get where I am going and we meet again, Shine your Beautiful heart down on us, Fly high and soar big, you definitely accomplished what you were put on this earth to do, with such great love, happiness, class and style and forever live on in your sweet daughter and ALLLLLL hearts you touched.. Your a sweet Angel now and Always have been....

I was privileged to know so many sides of Lilly, a incredible mother and nurturer, confidant and my dearest friend. Dyrah your mom was the one person that never gave up on me. She believed in me and without her I could not have achieved a quarter of what I have, not only in terms of success and career, but in terms of personal happiness and realizing the self-saboteur that had lived deep inside my own heart. She showed me that mother can take the place of all others and provide trust and stability but whose place no one else can take.

Dyrah, your mom always wanted you to have choices and to be able to be yourself in this world without dumbing down, settling for less or being afraid speak your mind. She never would limit your dreams, she tried not to hold too tightly, always encouraging you to spread your wings and soar. If by chance you would fall, your mother was there to wipe away your first tear before it had a chance to hit the ground. She would say at least my daughter falls with style and would be there to protect you from pain before you even realize it would hurt. Your mom always took the time out to care for the most precious thing in her life- you.

She was one of those people who lived life to the fullest. Your mom was never scared of hard work, she believed there is value in every life, regardless of past choices or hardships. What I admired the most was her genuineness and her style. She took risks, stepped out of her comfort zone, offering her knowledge to total strangers in an effort to empower their hearts and lift their spirits.

Your mother has been an extraordinary influence so many different lives and challenged everyone to always love, care, and give back to the people we are grateful for. I want you to know that I am here for you in any way you need. And finally, simply, no matter what, no one will ever, ever, ever replace your Mom. No one.
