Linda Bartusek Obituary

Bartusek
Linda L.
(Sartoris) Bartusek
July 27, 1954
September 1, 2023

Linda L. (Sartoris) Bartusek died peacefully in her home in Colorado Springs, CO, on September 1 with her immediate family by her bedside. Her best friend and husband, Michael A. Bartusek, was there, along with their daughter, LaTona (Toni) L. Higgins, and their son, Joseph M. Bartusek. And of course, her furry feline friends Bailey, Maddy and Snickers, were curled up nearby. Her years of fighting cancer are now over.
Linda was born in Akron, Ohio, on July 27, 1954, first daughter to Robert S. and Betty J (Theiss) Sartoris. Linda attended Akron public schools, graduating from Firestone High School in 1972. After graduation, Linda enrolled at Milligan College, TN, where she earned a degree in Business Administration and Economics.
After graduating, Linda worked for Kelly Girls (a temporary job agency) in several short-term positions in Akron, OH, there she met Mike on one of her assignments. They married in 1982 at Brandywine ski resort and moved to Colorado Springs, CO, in 1985 where her son Joe was born. In Colorado, Linda started working for the Benet Hill Monastery in 1992 as an administrative accountant. After serving the Sisters there for over 24 years, she retired in 2016.
Her love of the performing arts started early while singing in Firestone's Madrigals chorus and performing in the school's productions, including her favorite, South Pacific. She enjoyed going to live plays, especially Cats, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. As an adult, Linda became active in her local parish congregation at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, singing on their worship team with her beautiful soprano voice for several years. Singing was her passion and she especially enjoyed singing her daughter and son to sleep at night.
Traveling was a special joy which Linda pursued with passion. She spent several vacations with Mike and family on catamaran cruises throughout the Caribbean and Belize, with a trip to Kenya and Ireland. She also enjoyed camping and fishing in the mountains of Colorado, but her favorite destination was the ocean with the deep blue waters, blue was her favorite color.
Before she passed, she was able to celebrate her 69th birthday and her 41st wedding anniversary with her family. Linda was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. She is survived by her immediate family, Mike, Toni and Joe, who were with her to the end. She also leaves behind her mother, Betty Sartoris of Sun City, AZ, and siblings Mary L. Sartoris (Sun City, AZ), Robert Sartoris, Jr. (Brownsburg, IN), and David Sartoris (Phoenix, AZ).
