Linda Cozart Obituary

Linda Elizabeth Cozart, age 48, of Ramer, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in Peyton, Colorado on Friday under hospice care at the home of her lifelong friend, Sandra Cash. She was born in Denver, Colorado to the late Zenus Eddie (Ed) Cozart and Dorothy Ann Shivers Cozart. Linda was also preceded in death by a sister Kathryn A. and is survived by her brother, Steven E. Cozart, and his three children. Linda was very close to her mother, and the loss of her mom in 2010 was especially hard on her. Linda grew up on the west side of Colorado Springs, attending Howbert Elementary, Holmes Jr High, and Coronado High Schools. In her early years Linda loved horses, the band KISS, and spent many Sunday afternoons at the penny arcade in Manitou Springs. In her twenties and thirties she became quite a skilled auto mechanic and bartender. She was a Denver Bronco fan her whole life and spoke of the raw human energy at Mile High stadium. Linda also attended renaissance fairs whenever she could. Though Linda never married nor had children, she held a special fondness for her canine companions. Ebony, Raven, and most recently, Chloe were her favorites. Later in life she refurbished computers and there wasn't a PC she could not fix! Linda requested a private ceremony in the mountains of Colorado with her family and closest friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of The West Clinic in Corinth, Mississippi who cared for Linda while she fought but ultimately succumbed to breast cancer, and a big thanks to Pike's Peak Hospice. Donations may be made either to; The Pike's Peak Hospice Foundation, 2250 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80906, or to; The American Cancer Society.

Steven
As I told you in an earlier conversation, my 1st memory of Linda was as a toddler walking on her tiptoes all the time. I do not remember if she had taken ballet or if we just thought she should My poor dad was so worried about her messing up her pretty feet. I also remember that Linda loved to laugh and have a good time. It did not matter with who a child, the elderly or just family or friends. She almost always was sure to have a smile on her face and a laugh on her lips. The last few years were so hard for her with the cancer she fought, the death of your mom then your dad. I pray that she is at peace now. Please know that she is healthy now and with people she loves. If you need to talk or anything please know all you have to do is ask
