Linda Harder Obituary

Linda J. (Stowe) Harder was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 8, 1958 to parents Donald of Ruthanne Stowe. She was a long time resident of Colorado Springs, moving here with her family in August 1957. On February 22, 2002, she married her loving husband Gary Harder. Most of her earlier education was at the Cheyenne Mountain School District and graduated from that high school in June 1973. Following graduation she attended the University of Northern Colorado to study foreign languages that included Spanish, French and Italian. She then transferred to the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California to study international economics and foreign languages. She lived in Guadalajara, Mexico to study the Mexican culture and Spanish. She returned to Colorado Springs to resume her studies at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Information Management. She was employed for 11 years at TRowe Price and held several positions. She was a Registered Investment Adviser and on May 25, 2010 successfully past her exams to obtain the Certified Financial Planner designation. Linda's endless desires to help others to achieve financial independence lead her to assist many firms in the United Stated with Hispanic employees in understanding the importance of investing for retirement. Linda and her husband were very active in ballroom and Latin dancing and studied the Argentine Tango during their regular trips to Buenos Aries, Argentina. Linda is survived by her husband Gary Harder, parents, Donald and Ruthanna Stowe, siblings, Marlene Stowe-Leonis, David Stowe, Donna Stowe-Johannessen, stepson Scott Harder, step-grandchilden, Joshua and Elizabeth Harder, as well as her three nieces Kate Johannessen-Peoples, and Cassandra and Marissa Leonis. Linda's openness, unconditional acceptance of those she met, and humorous view of life will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at Memorial Gardens, 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 31, 2010. In lieu of flowers, please contribute in memory of Linda to Penrose Hospital of Colorado Springs' Sisters of Charity Patient Assistance Program.

Donald and Ruthanna:
We are so sorry for your loss and understand your feelings, having been there ourselves. I know she's in Heaven and all of you will one day be reunited at God's throne. May God help you deal with grief and understand He needed her back. She was just on loan to you and be grateful for the years you had with her. You are in our hearts and in our prayers. Love always, Carol, Ivan Kirkwood and family.
