Lois Jenkins Obituary

Lois Ann Ojala Jenkins went home to be with the Lord on December l0, 2013 after a lengthy illness.

She grew up in Gary, IN, where she attended William A. Wirt High School and met the love of her life, Doug Jenkins Jr. She attended Indiana University and later Denver University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. She and Doug traveled the world as he pursued his career as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. She taught school in Enid OK, Dover DE, Las Vegas, NY, and Littleton, CO, but spent many years as a stay-at-home mom to her two wonderful boys, Doug III and Dan.

A deeply committed Christian, Lois' faith grew throughout her life. She was active in churches in Tempe AZ, Littleton, CO, Palmer Lake, CO and Black Forest CO.

In 2006, Lois was diagnosed with a dementia of the Alzheimer's type. Although her memories and capabilities faded, her spirit never did. She always was cheerful, loving and smiling, a true inspiration to all whom she met.
