Loretta Jane Vap, 93, passed away on May 5, 2024, at home. She was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1959.
Loretta was born on October 7, 1930, to Roland and Mary Jorn in Nuckolls County, NE. She married David Vernon Vap on October 7, 1948. They went on to have 6 children: Linda, Joe (wife Karen), Jim, Peg (husband Kevin), Robert and Lisa (husband Andy). They also had 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Loretta worked for the Ampex Corporation as a solderer and a line supervisor. In 1990 she retired and spent her time visiting her children, making chocolates, going to Cripple Creek, playing cards and fishing at Eleven Mile Reservoir. She also loved cheering on the Broncos!
Loretta was predeceased by her loving husband Dave, son Jim, daughter Peg and grandson Chris.
Services will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance on May 16th at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.

I remember her and uncle Dave at my wedding acting as hostess. As uncle Dave walked me down the aisle. They were the best godparents. So wish I could be there but have 2 little grandkids here with their mom and dad out of the country for their anniversary and my hubby doesn´t travel well anymore. She was a dear indeed

I worked with Loretta at Ampex and was immediately drawn to her warm and quite often, humorous personality. She became a wonderful friend. I lost touch after a number of years but I thought of her often. My condolences to all of her family.
