Lori Jenkins Obituary

Lori Renelle Jenkins, 43, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, accepted Jesus' invitation home on November 11, 2013. Lori placed her faith in Christ at an early age and followed her faith through her illness.

Born June 4, 1970, in Colorado Springs, CO to Leslie and Karen (Neufeld) Watterud, grew up in Cragmor attending Bates Elementary, North Junior High, and Palmer High School with the class of 1988. Lori held positions with Mexico Way, Maaco, HP/Agilent, and Advantage Security, before following her true calling as a stay at home mom.

Lori loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; attending and volunteering at school activities; home decorating, baking cheesecakes, watching the Broncos, and enjoying the Colorado scenery. Her life was defined by Proverbs 31:25.

Lori is survived by her husband, Anthony; children, Trenton Martinez 25 (Kendal), Brianna Martinez 19, Katelyn Jenkins 11, Jenna Jenkins 9, and Ethan Jenkins 8; grandchildren, Izabelle Martinez 3, Mia Martinez 6 months; mother, Karen Watterud; sister, Rae-Chel Rhineberger (Tom); many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lori is preceded in death by her father Leslie Watterud.

We will miss her gentle touch and loving ways.

I always have such fond memories of Lori and I ... the two lone shorty cheerleaders in 9th grade, sleep overs, crushes and a lot of laughter. Like me she was so cute and sweet no one thought we were off causing mischief! I cannot think of Lori without a big smile ... she always had such warm way about her and all these years later seeing her face makes me smile still.

This was such hard news to hear ... Lori was my best friend in junior high ... we shared so many laughs and it was so wonderful to get in touch with her again when she came across my parents' path at HP. While we lost touch again over the years, Lori's name will always bring a smile to my face - there were such good memories with her and she will always be remembered as kind-hearted and fun loving. To Karen and Rae-Chel, I have fond memories of you all as well - thank you for all the times you welcomed me and I hope that you stay well.
