I remember Louie telling me I could come live with you guys when I was 18 with a horse and a dog. He said don't worry we have room for the dog and will find a place for the horse. I wish I had taken him up on his offer, but I was chicken to move away from Illinois. I have great memories of the trips out to CO when we went to the Meladrama in Manitou Springs.

Please forgive me, I have been out of touch for many years but believe me Lou was a huge positive influence on my life when I was in my mid 20s. I would often times manage the garage when Lou & Milly would take a needed vacation. Lou taught me so much about business, honesty, trouble shooting that has been my bible for years.
Beth, you know me, I think you named a son after me. Milly and Lou were truly wonderful people, God bless their soles

I remember Uncle Lou as being a man full of love for his family. The times I remember seeing him, he was always making those around him laugh. That is probably the one thing I remember most is those that he had around him laughing and having a good time.

Louis M. Harding;Awesome Husband,Father, grandfather,& great grandfather! And he was my favorite uncle( but that was our secret)! I will miss the fishing stories, the camping tips,& most of all Lou bending me over his knee spanking me. I would say " but I haven't done anything and he would always say YET or but you will!" And the "humm" he did so perfectly and perfect timing too! He was/is loved by many near and far. Oh the fun that is happening in heaven! His wife, his son, my Momma, and so many more: having a blast! We will all join you all in our perfect time! Until then we will keep you alive in our memories and miss you everyday! I Love you, Uncle Lou! XoXo

This may turn out to be very long as I did not really get to know my brother until after I divorced my first husband. Lou tried so hard to like him but it just was not there. I met my second husband to be shortly after our mother passed on. Lou and Jack hit it off immediately and Lou let me know in no uncertain terms that Jack was the best thing that had ever happened to me. My now husband and I embarked on a full time RV'ers life style and Lou and Millie came to Texas to see us where we were working for the winter. Stayed 3 weeks, I was 40 years old and then is when I really got to know my brother. We had not been raised together because of circumstances beyond our control. However those 3 weeks I began to find out who my brother really was and how we were so much alike it was almost scary. I loved him more than I can ever express in a few words. He was an extraordinary Father and Grandfather. He will be missed by so many, he is now joined with his Mother His Dad whom he really never knew , his son, and I like to think that my son and daughter will be drawn into his circle. The circle will be unbroken by and by

To the Harding family, my sincere condolences. Lou was a mentor and Boss for me and many others in the Fire Service, The Fire Service would'nt be where it is today without this Great Man. He is and was very respected, I shall personally miss his laughter, along with his seriousness when he needed. He will be missed, but never forgotten

Grandpa words can not explain how much I miss you or how much you meant to me. You raised me most of my childhood and for that I am grateful for all the years we spent together playing card games and eating nonchilladas even after grandma passed. You were my hero and the love you and grandma shared is something I will search my entire life for but the two of you were the meaning of true love. You held on strong til the end even tho you were in endless pain. It was so hard to see you like that and for that im sorry I didnt visit as much as I needed to but the good memories will last me my entire life time and no matter how hard life gets I will always ask myself "what would grandpa do?" I love you pampa and I will NEVER forget the things you taught me throughout your life time. Im so glad you passed away at home just like you wanted and you are no longer in pain. Please play a game of hand and foot with grandma for me and tell corky and Lily hello. I love you all with every bit of my heart!!??

Grandpa,
I remember being extremely young coming to j&l to see you. You are an amazing man with a huge heart. You took dad in when grandpa died and you raised him as your own kid, from what I'm told dad and corky liked to give you hell. My most enjoyable time with you and corky was working with the both of you at the Lq store when we didn't have customers we scratched lottery tickets, laugh, and crack jokes. You are such a strong stubborn man anytime I would offer help or ask if you needed anything you always told me no you were fine. Saying goodbye to you today was extremely difficult but I know you are in heaven happy now that you have grandma and corky right next to you. I know I will see you again! Love you

Lou was an awesome man, father, husband and mentor to many. His style was sometimes gruff, but it worked. He was the one that started me on my fire career that lasted over 30 years.

It will probably never be known the lasting impact that this man had on others. You will be missed by all!
