Louis Jacques Obituary

Louis Alphonse Jacques, Jr., 70, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011, at his home. He was born November 17, 1940, in Lebanon, New Hampshire, a son of the late Louis Alphonse and Verna Nettie (Fleck) Jacques. He was a 1959 graduate of the former Springfield Trade High School in Springfield, Massachusetts. On May 16, 1959, Louis was united in marriage in Orchard, Massachusetts to Alice M. Gaudreau, who survives at their home. Louis was a longtime carpenter and had previously worked for Honeywell and Ford Micro Electronics in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a veteran of the United States Army from August 1969 until July 1972 and served in the Vietnam War. Louis enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and spending time with his family. He was also known to be a "Jack of all Trades". Along with his wife Alice, Louis is also survived by one daughter: Tina Buechter (husband John) of Jefferson City, MO; two brothers: Russell Jacques and Michael Jacques both of the State of California; one sister: Cindy Race of the State of Illinois; four grandchildren: Calvin Clark, Rebecca Buechter, Matthew Buechter, Kelli Buechter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter-in-law: Jamie Clark (wife of Calvin Clark) and great-granddaughter: Alison Joyce Clark both on September 4, 2011. Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011, at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heart of Missouri Humane Society, P.O. Box 1031; Jefferson City, MO 65102-1031.
