Dear Colorado Cousins,
It is always sad to lose a close relative, no matter when. We will always remember your dad, Uncle Lou, with great fondness. Being the oldest of the Hebl kids, I perhaps remember the most. I even remember being at your parents' wedding - if ever two people had million-dollar smiles, it was your mom and dad. Our trips to Colorado were so much fun, as were your family visits to Minnesota. Your dad worked long hours, but he always made lots of time available to spend with us when we visited.
Your dad had a special subtle sense of humor and quick wit. I remember when we visited in 2009, Mom, Dad, Boyd, and I went with Mary to visit your dad. After initial "hellos", Boyd said, "Remember me? You always used to tell me that I needed to lose a few pounds." Without missing a beat, your dad looked at the rest of us and said, "He still does!", and with a twinkle in his eyes, smiled that special joking smile of his! 'We all had a good laugh!
It is so difficult to witness our loved ones leaving us. But we know they will live on in our hearts and are in a better place. It is comforting to know that now your mom and dad can be together again in heaven. Paula will be right there with your mom to give warm welcome.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and that you have our sincere heartfelt sympathy. Wishing you peace and comfort,
Karol

It was an honour to get to know my father-in-law these past 3 years, and I wish I had met him sooner. I believe he was a kindred spirit. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Heaven just received another angel. Dr. Louis took care of our family on the westside, from 1958 when we first came here, and now we are going to Dr. Kucera Jr. A wonderful family you all are. God Bless You and be with you at this time.

I was sad to hear of Uncle Lou's passing. I send our deepest sympathies to your family. I have many fond memories of Uncle Lou, Aunt Angela, and the rest of the “Colorado” Kuceras, even though I was still rather young when last I saw everyone together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dr. Kucera took care of me since 1959 on the West Side on 26th Street. He moved to Academy Blvd and I continued as his patient there. He perfomed alot of my surgeries and delivered two of my children and helped me with the medical services with my other two children. He took the time to look for me when he found out the about the death of my husband. He actually went looking for me to tell me. He was a very special man/doctor in my life...Thank you so much Dr. Kucera for my life and my children's lives.

From the neighbor kid one block south, I express my sincere condolences to all of you on the loss of your father. I was saddened to read that your mother passed three years earlier.
Time has really flown by since we rode our bikes up and down the Foote Avenue hill. I still go once a month to the old neighborhood, cleaning out my parents' and grandmother's homes trying to get them ready to sell or lease. Best to all of you.
