Louis Maecker Obituary

Lou Maecker passed away on March 25, 2012 from heart and lung failure. Lou was born on November 15, 1934 in Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Marie Maecker and his son Gerry Maecker. Lou graduated from North High School in Denver, Colorado and attended Colorado School of Mines. He enlisted the United States Coast Guard where he was stationed in New York City. This is where he met his wife of 53 years Mary Ann Campbell. Together they had two boys Brian and Gerry. Lou worked at the Denver water Board and retired from Colorado Interstate Gas Co. After retirement Lou worked at Handyman Connection and was active teaching in driving skills for AARP. Lou will be missed for his daily jokes and caring nature. Lou was one guy who could fix anything and really enjoyed inventing things. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to Pikes Peak Hospice. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Mountain View Mortuary with a reception to follow.

It was great growing up with you and Mrs. Meacker across the street. You two treated all off us like family. My brother and I were talking about you a couple of weeks ago and remembering the very good times we had with Brian and Jerry. I will always think of you and your family with great fondness. My deepest sympathies to Mrs. Meacker and Brian. Eileen (Lou) Nolan (Bazan)
