Louis Schunk Obituary

Born in Somerville, New Jersey. As a young paper boy he developed a solid, lasting work ethic.

He served in the U.S. Air Force in England and Germany from 1952 until 1972 as a meteorologist, where he was described as "extremely effective, utterly reliable and very highly skilled."

He was an honorable and practical man with strong opinions who would never cheat.

If you were Lou's friend, he was always there to help.

A lifelong Yankees fan and avid golfer, he loved all sports. He cherished his bowling buddies in Colorado and Virginia.

Following the Air Force, he pursued real estate and car sales, and in his 70's took up carpentry, continuing his extraordinary ability to make things work.

He was predeceased by his parents Louis F and Elizabeth Schunk, twin sister Joanie and brother Frank Grillo.

He is survived by his partner of 27 years, Suzanna Russell, his sisters Betty Grillo and Jacqueline Sutton. 4 children - Louis Jr, Edward (Robin), Beverly Adams (Mark) and Heidi Moe (Ryan); 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was loved by friends and family and will be missed!
