Louise Ericson Obituary

Ericson
LOUISE (TURNER) ERICSON
November 23, 1934 July 18, 2018
Louise Turner Ericson, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.
Louise was born on November 23, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to J. C. and Pearl Turner. She was raised in Oklahoma City and Bethany.
Louise graduated from Putnam City High School in 1953 and attended Oklahoma A&M College where she met Richard Nave Ericson. They were married in June of 1955. Following Dick's two years of Army service, she completed her degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1958. Louise and Dick moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where Louise had fond memories of their young family life. They moved to Illinois, residing in Park Forest, Peru and finally Arlington Heights where they lived happily for twenty-four years before retiring to Colorado in August of 1999.
Louise was bright, witty, gentle and loving. Her early years were filled with music, playing piano and singing. She had been a children's librarian and always had a great book to recommend to her children, who attribute their early love of reading to her influence. She loved poetry and wrote delightful poems for her grandchildren's birthdays and other special occasions. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her later years. Louise spoke only the kindest words about others and was a faithful and encouraging friend. Upon their retirement, Louise was always game for an adventure with Dick as they explored Colorado and especially their favorite mountain town, Crested Butte.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Clarence Turner and Cara Pearl Turner; and her brother, Joseph Turner. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Scott Ericson, whom she can now know and love in heaven.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Richard Ericson; her children, David (Susan) Ericson of Whittier, California; Richard (Cynthia) Ericson of Chicago, Illinois and Nancy (Richard Leap) Ericson of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her grandchildren are Sarah Ericson, Jennifer Ericson, Andrew Ericson, Catrina Ericson, John Ericson, Brendan Leap and Grant Leap.
The family is especially grateful to the kind and compassionate staff of the Palisades at Broadmoor Park and of Suncrest Hospice. Their loving nature and tender-hearted care brought great comfort throughout Louise's final years.
Louise will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
A private celebration of her life will be held in August.
