Louise Hilbers-Newendyke Obituary

Hilbers-Newendyke
Louise Henriette
Hilbers-Newendyke
August 7, 1936
October 7, 2025

Louise, age 89, passed away on October 7, 2025. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 69 years and was formerly a resident of Den Haag, Netherlands. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and later a member of Salem Lutheran Church, and an accountant for Compassion International for 25 years.
Louise was born on August 7, 1936 to Louis Hilbers and Aukje (De Raaf) Hilbers in Den Haag, Netherlands. On October 20, 1956 she married Randall Newendyke in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Louise was positive and compassionate. She was fond of sewing, knitting, and intricate needlework, often making pillows and framed pieces of work for friends and family. Her children and grandchildren always enjoyed the special Dutch treats during holidays and on special occasions. She also enjoyed gathering with friends and fellow Christians to serve others in the community, singing in the choir and serving as a deacon with First Presbyterian Church.
Louise came to the United States and settled in Punxsutawney, PA where she attended Punxsutawney High School for one year while serving as an au pair for a local family. She came to Colorado Springs to attend Beth-El School of Nursing where Louise met her husband of 61 years, Randall Newendyke.
Louise is survived by her children: Gordon, Richard, and Christine Newendyke and Laura Zarlengo (Newendyke); her grandchildren: Mark Newendyke (Aubrie), Michael Newendyke, April Morring (Casey), Kelly Ranieri (Nick), Glen Chapman, Alexa Zarlengo, and Livia Zarlengo; and her 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Randall Newendyke, as well as her siblings Hans Hilbers and Hendrika Van Dongen.
A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. in Colorado Springs.
