Lowell Abbott Obituary

Our very beloved Jay has left us. We mourn our loss deeply-only consolation being that he is at heavenly peace and rest after two years struggling through cancer.

Jay was born in Claremont, NH, moved and traveled a lot being an AF son. From 1974 CO became home, graduated from Coronado HS. After serving in AF and other jobs, he learned welding and blacksmithing. Being ambitious and artistic and having found "it", started his own business, made his mark on Wood Ave.

Jay is survived by his wife, Frozie Elaine Dixon Abbott, mother Janet Abbott, brothers Kevin and Zach, nieces, nephews, grandnephews and Shady his loyal, wonderful dog, all of Colorado Springs; father William Abbott of Florida.

Jay loved life with Frozie, his family, Shady, his work, his home, trips, coffee, history channel, Thanksgiving. He was positive, serious, witty, and humble showed and taught us so much. He will be missed beyond belief.

We will look up and see your soul soaring...

Visitation for family will be held at a later date.

In Jay's memory, donations to Pikes Peak Hospice: www.pikespeakshospice.org or ABANA: www.abana.org would be appreciated.

Jay Abbott
I have known the Abbott family for more than 50 years so Jay was a little guy when we were neighbors. Jay was always Jay – not seeking attention, but just being a nice little boy who loved the idea of the possibilities of Wonder Bread! He was a handsome little guy and endeared himself to all my family. Though we were always in touch, I didn't see him much after he was grown, except for one Sunday breakfast in Colorado Springs when a friend and I were on a trip. Having breakfast with Jay and his brothers was the highlight of our trip.
I remained in frequent contact with mother Janet and I know that Jay courageously fought the disease and it was very difficult. He taught me more about how to live and how to die. A consolation is that Jay's life was fulfilled by his and Frozie's love and he found a passion in his welding art work.
Though Jay is out of this world now, he will always be in my heart

Darling Frozie,
I think Jay gave you and me lots of leeway during our years together at the CVB. We whitened our teeth and lost weight at the same time; we were pooper scoopers in the Rodeo Parade; we were the VIC sisters one Halloween.
He was, and continues to be a true blessing to so many. Much love, "cj"

Dear Frozie and all the Abbott's,
My heart goes out to you all in the passing of this special man. Although my time of knowing him was relatively short, I have seen what a positive impact he has made on the lives of those near and dear. His kind heartedness showed through to all he dealt with.
He is pain free and has been released from the earthly confines. He will live on in the hearts and minds of so many.
May peace be with you as you remember, share and continue to love this special man.
Hugs to all...

We remember Jay as an aspiring artist thru' all the years growing up in the Air Force. He was always so peaceful & oh how he laughed when we drove up in the mountains & threw snowballs at each other. He will always be with those who love him & have him in their hearts. Our deepest regrets & sympathy goes out to all the family & those who treasured Jay.
