Lucy Bell Obituary

May 7, 1914 - July 2, 2008. Lucy T. Bell passed away July 2, 2008 at Pikes Peak Hospice. She was born May 7, 1914 in Newton, Massachusetts to Felice and Mary (Brigandi) Olivieri. Lucy married Kenneth Greenville Bell on January 5, 1941. They spent many happy years together before his passing on February 20, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Felice Olivieri, Mary Olivieri Frongello, Sarah Olivieri, Evelyn Olivieri Collura, and Anthony Olivieri. She is survived by her children: Kenneth Bell of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania and Linda Bell Wiepking of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by her sisters: Rita Olivieri, Vera Olivieri Schiff and Frances Olivieri Joy; her son in law Jack Wiepking and grandchildren: Joel Bell of Norfolk, Virginia; Sara Wiepking of Boston, Massachusetts; and Kelly Wiepking of Denver, Colorado. She was a proud member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Paul Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post of Lakewood, Colorado. She was pleased to be an 'unpaid volunteer' for Loyalton of the Broadmoor where she lived for 6 years and enjoyed leading exercise, calling bingo, showing movies and helping the residents. She loved Bridge and continued to play until the age of 92 as a member of the American Contract Bridge League. The family would like to sincerely thank the caring staff at the Loyalton of the Broadmoor, Pikes Peak Hospice, and the special caretakers from Home Instead. A Funeral Mass will take place 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Pauline Chapel, 9 El Pomar Rd., Colorado Springs, 80906. A private entombment will follow at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.
