Luise Freeman Obituary

Born July 5, 1920 to Karl and Ella Grabitzky in Dusseldorf, Germany, Luise Freeman died on July 1, 2006. She was married to Sgt. Arthur L. Freeman, who preceded her in death. After completing many tours of duty, they settled in Colorado Springs in 1955. Her two children, RH Pete Freeman and Juanita Edwards, grandchildren Karl Freeman, Peter Freeman, Curtis Edwards, Thomaas Edwards and several great grandchildren survive Mrs. Freeman. Throughout the years Mrs. Freeman worked in the service industry, but her greatest enjoyment was providing daycare for many youngsters. She always provided a happy and safe place for children. She was "granma" to all who came through her doors, and her reputation for unconditional love and caring of all children brought her the children of previous daycare youngsters. Each year she received invitations requesting attendance for high school and college graduations of past daycare children. Her family and friends will dearly miss Mrs. Freeman, but the positive impact she had on the lives of children in daycare will be her legacy. Services will be held on July 15, 2006, 11:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 1113 N. Union Blvd.

Pete and Juanita,

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I hope the Lord will bless you with comfort in this time of need. I haven't seen your mother for many years, yet I still remember first meeting her. She was so beautiful and vibrant when Peter introduced her. She was a wonderful lady. May the Creator bless her efforts in this world...

Lovingly, Lailah Kathleen ElHail (Lillian Taylor)

Luise always put a smile on my face. She loved and cared for so many of us that you couldn't help but love her back. She always asked everyone how they were doing, and waited for and listened to the response. She was a fighter and gave hope to many of the people around her. She will be missed by all of us who knew and loved her.

Luise was the most amazing woman, she was full of laughter and very quick witted. She brightened the days and lives of every person who had the pleasure of knowing her. I will miss her dearly and think of her often.
